Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
My amp had no flaws of any kind and is quite sturdy. All knobs and inputs are tight and solid. The cabinet seems to be well made , even for a Chinese made item. No complaints what so ever. I've put it through the paces too! Even the speakers are of great quality and are holding up well. And you don't have to break them in to get the vintage sound either!
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Only had it a month so far but no glitches anywhere yet.Besides, American Musical doubled my warranty so no worries. Thanks for the smoking deal guys!

Your general opinion of this product.
I have owned the spider IV 150 for about a month now and am blown away by the multitude of sounds that this amplifier delivers. It flawlessly does anything that I care to dream up, if it isn't already there. And trust me, it probably is! The cleans are superior and the touch response on the class A has to be heard! Perfect
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It is easy to just twist knobs and go. There are so many presets..but I suggest you get the foot controller of choice and get real deep. It has a deep editing capability once you are in there. Scary stuff!! A very happy customer indeed. I was a tube amp junkie also and this is my main amp now. Just too easy to get the sound I want. Believe your ears.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Everything is possible and perfect. Loads of fun. Haven't even scraped the surface of what this amp can do.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Was very good looking and clean. Still is.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Was able to download new software right away, I would recommend getting the foot controller of your choice as it is needed to update and play hands free!

Line6 Spider IV 150 watt Combo Amp
Rod C. Venger from Bryan, Texas, USA
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It's very well made, very good looking and has excellent functionality. In changing a preset though, going into manual mode to make changes, the volume shut offs and I essentially have to switch to another preset and then right back, and the volume will be turned back on. Be aware that you need an FBV foot controller for ease of use unless you like twisting knobs and scrolling through the selections. The controllers are not included with the amp and cost from $100 - $200 each, depending on which you choose. While there's more effects than most people have a reasonable use for, I wouldn't consider their setup in 4 banks to be intuitive and I don't believe that they can be re-ordered within the banks to make the selections sensible.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I've only had it a week or so but it's sturdily built. I suspect it will last a very long time.

Your general opinion of this product.
I really am enjoying this amplifier. It's powerful, it's clear when needed, very versatile, has a wide range of effects, but is not the easiest to navigate, is not exactly intuitive to use, but what it does do it does extremely well.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Again, it's playability is largely up to the user. Be aware that little documentation comes with it, only a bare minimum "Pilots Guide". You'll need to download the manuals from Line6 are print them out for ease of access. All of the procedures you need for editing and use are in there and it's very detailed but not intuitive. Downloadable software, free, is available for offline editing. Upgrades to the firmware and downloaded presets are shunted directly from the internet into the amp's memory via your FBV foot controller (not included) which makes editing much easier. Be aware that while the factory presets are editable in that software, many of the presets such as presets from specific artists and songs that you will download and install into the amp will NOT be available in the editing software if you transfer the entirety of the amps presets and effects to your computer via the FBV Foot Controller (Not Included). There seems to be no way to to a FULL data dump of your amp to your

Excellent tone, depending on your use!
I seem to have exceeded the allowed space in the field above and the form will not allow me to correct it. Email me if you like and I'll redo the review. In closing the amp/foot controller and software seems not to allow a full data dump of the amp's memory.

It's nice looking but not flashy.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Very versatile. If there's an effect that you want, it's either in there or you can edit an existing preset or build your own to get what you need. It will take me some time to explore all of it's capabilities.

The knobs are very easy to use and figure out. Typical EQ and a gain and volume per channel plus master volume.

Variety of Tones from dark to bright and clean to Crazy thick distortion. The great improvement with this generation of spider is the job it does those gritty middle of the road tones.
