Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This amp seems to be pretty well made. I just dont understand why they chose to use what resembles a phone jack for the foot controler. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Only time will tell. I have read people saying this thing is made in China. In reference to that,it is ASSEMBLED in china. It costs less to ship the parts to China and have a more stuctured cultture of peaple assemble them, rather than have hung over americans assemble them here the good ol' USA. Overall Your general opinion of this product. This head has everything I want and need. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? I hate having to read manuals to figure out the use of electonic equipment. However, the Spidervalve was very user friendly and I was able to make the most of it in a very short time. You don't have to have an electronics degree to operate this amp. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? I have heard peole say this amp sounds as good as other high priced amps. I personally think it sounds better than some high priced amps I've heard. There is a saying, "A fool is born every day." This is a good thing for companies that use the high price marketing sceme to market their products. If you have puppies you must find homes for and nobody wants them when they're free, put a price on them and they will go like hotcakes. Some people don't feel good about something they're purchasing unless they spend alot of money on it. With this amp you get the warmth of tubes with incredible effects built right in that would probably cost at least $300.00 to purchse seperately. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The appearance of the spidervalve is different. I'm not a big fan of the lit up plexiglass screen. I would rather see the same metal grill that is on the back of the unit put on the front. This would help for ventlation also. Also, the only thing I want lit up in my head is the glow of the tubes. Line six was also pinching their pennies when they neglected to put metal corners on the head. This can however be resolved easily and cheaply by visiting a parts/hardware store like I did and purchasing steel corner covers. Action How was the action out of the box? N/A

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Although my first mkii was slightly defective, my new one is in perfect order and it's hard to believe that I will have any problems with it in the near future. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I had to send the first one I recieved back due to a bad capacitor in the power amp section. But American Musical promptly sent me out another one and its been trouble-free. Overall Your general opinion of this product. After buying a Pod X3 Pro for my home studio I became a fan of Line 6 products. When it came time to buy a new amp it was a no-brainer! I've been a lover of tube amps over the years so I checked out the Spider Valve mkii. I was completely floored with not only how good it sounded but how sonically versatile it was. I still maintained this opinion despite a retail store employee hovering over me talking trash about it the whole time I was demoing it. For me the biggest plus of this amp is when paired with it's foot controller, I don't need anything else but my guitar, cab and amp. This has it ALL! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It's a bit lighter than some other tube amps and the front panel is laid out well. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The tone is whatever you want it to be. I've dialed in tones that sound "spot on" like a 5150 and a Mesa. The global "presence" control is nice for dialing in that right amount of "air" to achieve perfect clarity for the room that your playing in. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The amp looks sharp and the backlit plexiglass with the laser engraved logos looks really sharp on-stage! Action How was the action out of the box? Amps don't have "action" per se, but I would say that this amp meets my expctations. I will add that I love the "looper" in this amp because I can either use it to record a riff and then put my guitar down while that riff is still playing and adjust my tones, or I can use it to lay down a rhythm track and work on a melody to go over top of it. A great tone building/song writing tool!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I only gave it a 4 because its made in china. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Its not dead yet, but it is made in china and its only $900 so... we'll see what happens. Overall Your general opinion of this product. For the price and the features you get with this amp its hard to beat. Not to mention they just came out witha firmware update that includes 28 new efftects. A foot pedal is required for the update, which i have not gotten yet. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Crunch-o-Matic this thing shines on all the tones and responds well wo all kinds of playing styles. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Awesome for what your paying. The only thing i noticed is that i have to almost max out the presance knob on some settings to get my tone. I have also done multi. recording with this (using the direct out and micing it) and it sounds awesime with my ghetto setup. Cant wait to take it to real studio :) Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The looks of this amp are sweet. There are a lot of lights on this so it may look wierd at first...but you will get used to them. Action How was the action out of the box? ready to go out of the box :)

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Excellent quality!!! Not cheaply made!! Solid!!!! Reliability How has it stood up over time? Have only had it a couple of weeks now...No problem. Built solid...No skimping on the building. Cabinet is solid..Switches easily marked and within good eysight so you can see easily from a low or high angle. Overall Your general opinion of this product. This product is a must have!!!! I have been a Marshall man for over 25 years....Line 6 just changed that!! A tube amp...with modeling..I was a little nervous.BUT WOW!!!!!...Time to put the Marshalls on the sideline!!! Plus....I was able to buy this from AMS as a "B" stock for less then $400.00!!!!!! Even the regular price is awesome for this amp!!!! I would have paid full price for this in an instant!! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Like I said...Easy to set up tone controls and programs. One thing that can be improved upon...The digital tuner is too small to be seen if your are performing on stage and have the head set up on a floor/half stack setup..would not be able to see tuner..Otherwise..Great!! Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? There are soooooo many tonal combinations is is just awesome!! Clean..Acoustic like..Hard...Heavy...Insane solo sounds..it really is almost endless what you can do with this!!! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Looks like your typical amp head. looks cool with the tubes lit up..You can see them thry the front panel. Action How was the action out of the box? Pretty easy to set up the programs into amp Just read owners manual. No brainer.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Again, built like a tank. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Built like a tank. Very chunky and solid. Also, the matching slant cab is gigantic, almost as big as the traditional Orange 4x12 size. Big and brawny. Can't wait to get the Vintage30's broke-in. Overall Your general opinion of this product. I'm really liking this amp. I actually parted with a Mesa 1/4 stack to get the SpiderValveMk2 half stack and I have no regrets whatsoever. This amp just sounds great and feels right. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Very organic and responsive. I have virtually turned off the built-in noise gate in order to have more dynamics control via my guitars' volume/tone knobs. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Tone seems very versatile and covers a lot of ground. Suits humbuckers just as much as single-coils. Again, very responsive. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Very sharp looking! Action How was the action out of the box?
