Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? VERY WELL MADE, JUST MAKE SURE LIKE ANY TUBE AMP THAT YOU USE THE STANDBY MODE. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Just had it a couple of weeks but good so far, AMS offers the extra year of warranty so why not buy it here? Overall Your general opinion of this product. A very well thought out piece of kit. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? If you are playing in a cover band or recording, this is the amp for you! Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? If you take the time and it may take you some time you will love the way this thing sounds! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The glass front is very cool for playing out! Action How was the action out of the box? Sounded great out of the box but even better when you tweak the presets!
This amp rocks!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Beautiful amp. Logo is LED on the face plexiglass. Tubes get warm and beautiful. Love having the lights down low and playing this amp. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Haven't had time to take her out on the road yet and she is a tube amp with plexiglass face but to practice and back the amp has been fine. Overall Your general opinion of this product. I've been able to grab every tone I wanted for my two bands (Rock and roll, jazz/blues) At first I was going to just bipass all the modeling and use it as a bogner amp with pedals if needed but the modeling doesn't zap much tone out at all so as is it has replaced my whole jamming experience. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It is about the same weight as any head this size. The handle on top is well made and thick dispersing the weight effectively. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Perrfffeecccctttt :) Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I thought I got to this earlier... it is a beautiful amp. Very sleek and kinda man-cave-esque

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This amp seems to be pretty well made. I just dont understand why they chose to use what resembles a phone jack for the foot controler. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Only time will tell. I have read people saying this thing is made in China. In reference to that,it is ASSEMBLED in china. It costs less to ship the parts to China and have a more stuctured cultture of peaple assemble them, rather than have hung over americans assemble them here the good ol' USA. Overall Your general opinion of this product. This head has everything I want and need. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? I hate having to read manuals to figure out the use of electonic equipment. However, the Spidervalve was very user friendly and I was able to make the most of it in a very short time. You don't have to have an electronics degree to operate this amp. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? I have heard peole say this amp sounds as good as other high priced amps. I personally think it sounds better than some high priced amps I've heard. There is a saying, "A fool is born every day." This is a good thing for companies that use the high price marketing sceme to market their products. If you have puppies you must find homes for and nobody wants them when they're free, put a price on them and they will go like hotcakes. Some people don't feel good about something they're purchasing unless they spend alot of money on it. With this amp you get the warmth of tubes with incredible effects built right in that would probably cost at least $300.00 to purchse seperately. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The appearance of the spidervalve is different. I'm not a big fan of the lit up plexiglass screen. I would rather see the same metal grill that is on the back of the unit put on the front. This would help for ventlation also. Also, the only thing I want lit up in my head is the glow of the tubes. Line six was also pinching their pennies when they neglected to put metal corners on the head. This can however be resolved easily and cheaply by visiting a parts/hardware store like I did and purchasing steel corner covers. Action How was the action out of the box? N/A

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Although my first mkii was slightly defective, my new one is in perfect order and it's hard to believe that I will have any problems with it in the near future. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I had to send the first one I recieved back due to a bad capacitor in the power amp section. But American Musical promptly sent me out another one and its been trouble-free. Overall Your general opinion of this product. After buying a Pod X3 Pro for my home studio I became a fan of Line 6 products. When it came time to buy a new amp it was a no-brainer! I've been a lover of tube amps over the years so I checked out the Spider Valve mkii. I was completely floored with not only how good it sounded but how sonically versatile it was. I still maintained this opinion despite a retail store employee hovering over me talking trash about it the whole time I was demoing it. For me the biggest plus of this amp is when paired with it's foot controller, I don't need anything else but my guitar, cab and amp. This has it ALL! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It's a bit lighter than some other tube amps and the front panel is laid out well. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The tone is whatever you want it to be. I've dialed in tones that sound "spot on" like a 5150 and a Mesa. The global "presence" control is nice for dialing in that right amount of "air" to achieve perfect clarity for the room that your playing in. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The amp looks sharp and the backlit plexiglass with the laser engraved logos looks really sharp on-stage! Action How was the action out of the box? Amps don't have "action" per se, but I would say that this amp meets my expctations. I will add that I love the "looper" in this amp because I can either use it to record a riff and then put my guitar down while that riff is still playing and adjust my tones, or I can use it to lay down a rhythm track and work on a melody to go over top of it. A great tone building/song writing tool!
