These drums have a great sound if you tune them right and that is not hard to do at all!! I bought the BLue one and it looks even better in person. The cymbals are not the greatest but will get you buy till you can get some new ones. the snare did have a little bit of a ring to it but an easy fix with tuning and a muffler it sounds great now!! I would eefinatly recommend this kit to anyone wanting to start playing the drums as there man kit or if you want a good back up kit it rocks!!. I use it as my man kit and get lots of compliments on it!!

Hey they are Ludwig therfore in my opinion they are the best in there best in their group.
Sound:
They sound great. Little too much snare buzz, so it took a while to tune and you need to retune based on venue, but nice deep tone. Usually only heard on deeper snares. I agree getting a bass drum muffler and aquarian muffler rings are a MUST.
Durability:
Owned mine for over a year used it for plugged & unplugged church events and outdoor garden parties. You will definately want to replace cymbals if you are doing anything but practicing.

Ludwig Pinnacle Set
Quality:
Good quality product for the relatively low price.
Features:
The snare sounds solid most of the time, I'm still noticing just a bit too much rattle than I would prefer. I added some muffling
material to the bass drum to get some extra warmth. I wish it came with better cymbals. But hey, It's a starter kit. But it wouldn't hurt to improve the cymbals to better match the rest of
the set.
Sound:
Tone is open and has long sustain. Tuning the heads was stress free, they react quickly. I recommend buying the Aquarian studio rings with this set if you are not going to replace the heads right away. You'll be happy that you did. Sounds really good.
Overall:
Very happy with the purchase, Excellent starter kit
Value:
Overall, Good quality product for a relatively low price.
Appearance:
Looks great! I got mine in Wine Red Metallic.

A decent beginner set
Quality:
I'll preface my comments by saying that I'm a keyboardist, not a drummer. My only other drum set is an electronic set, so I'm not sure if this review will be helpful . Quality seems decent for the price. The insides of the shells are a bit rough in places, but everything looks as if it will hold together a long time. I'm not sure I'd take it out on the road much, but for home use it should be fine.
Features:
It's an attractive, "all-in-one" kit that should get a beginner started. There really should be some printed instructions for us non-drummers. There's a link to a web site on the box where you can view tiny videos of a different, but similar drum set being assembled, so I did manage to get it set up.
Sound:
To be honest, I'm not totally sure. I filled the bass drum about 1/3 full with bubble wrap and it's the best sounding part of the kit. I'm fighting some snare rattle and I have to tune the toms pretty low to get a good sound, but I think that's due to my poor tuning abilities and the cheap heads. The flimsy pieces of metal included shouldn't be called cymbals. To call them "trash can sounding" would be generous.
Overall:
A good starter kit. Add some decent cymbals and heads and it should be ready to rock.
Value:
I knew the cymbals were trash and the heads weren't great, so I got what I expected. I don't know enough about drum sets to know if it's a great value, but I'm happy enough.
Appearance:
I got it in wine and it looks very nice. It actually looks better than it does in the picture.
