Product Review I own two of these now. Perfect hotspot monitor, even for drummers (can play plenty loud!). Variety of inputs make it useful in other venues, as well. I am a music teacher and have used this to demo music in classrooms and auditoriums. Great piece of gear!

Product Review This is a nice small system. I use it with a wireless bell mic on my sax when I play at church. it’s powerful enough to cut through with drums, keyboards and other electronic instruments playing...

Product Review If you cannot afford custom in ears get this instead. I heard the whole band through from my drum throne.

Product Review I needed a monitor that would carry the whole bands mix but would allow a keyboard player to turn themselves up without affecting the mix. It worked great. Looks good sounds good

The product is sturdy and well made. I've used it several times a week for about a month and have had no problems. I am a Zumba instructor, the placement of the volume/tone/input on the front for easy access is great. Another great feature for me is that it is compact and lightweight. I just toss it in my backpack with my other gear. It is SUPER easy to use and ready to go right out of the box. I glimpsed at the instructions just to be sure I didn't miss anything, but it was not really necessary. I purchased a $3 adapter (walmart) to fit my mp3 player and I was good to go. Not all the places I teach have a system. I needed something loud but could not afford an expensive system. This produces a really good sound (great bang for your buck), the sound adjustments are a big help in getting the tone just right. Your general opinion of this product. This is a great portable system for exercise classes, church events, picnics, reunions, etc.

Versitile, loud unit that can save your butt when other things fail

I'm on my third unit. The first one failed while under warranty and got replaced. The second one failed after several years of service...I was disappointed and tried to replace it with a Roland Cube. But the Cube was not up to the task, so I purchased another one. So far, so good. Feature set is very good. Two XLR/1/4" combo plus a set of RCA inputs cover just about any contingency. Extremely easy. Virtually no learning curve. Good and loud enough for most spaces. Your general opinion of this product. We use this for: drummer monitor with the band; monitor for duo performance; main vocal/backing track PA for solo gigs; acoustic guitar amp for religious service. But it has come in handy when other PA gear overheated, failed, etc. So it's always close at hand and has been up to any task.

A near-field monitor with that Mackie MOTAH!

Yes, I really like the look of this monitor, and the tight combination of polymer and steel. I love the built in handle (rather than the strap handles used e.g., on the Galaxy Hot Spot). It feels like you could throw it off a building, pick it up, and it would still work. Lightweight, powerful, great design. I would add ... basically ... NOTHING. Geez, I don't know how they could make it any easier. You plug it in, you prop it up, you plug in your "shizzah," and it CRANKS. The back panel linking features and mic/line switch, and front panel combo inputs, RCA jacks (for your iPod or other playback device), "instrument" and "phantom power" switches are all top-notch features ... what more could you want? I also love ALL the Mackie manuals ... they are just chock full of useful information for tekkies. Hey, between its butt-whooping 150 watts, Mackie's custom-designed 5.25" neodymium speaker and the 3 band EQ, the punch and dynamic range of this thing is pretty amazing. It's got high end and midrange up the wazoo, and a really respectable bottom end as well, especially if you goose the bottom EQ. VERY well-engineered combo of amp, speaker and EQ features delivers a sound just about anyone should be pleased with in a small package like this.

good quality- should hold up nice EQ and multi-channel easy to use- and very easy to carry... is a little "tipsy" on mic stand... doesn't really work with boom stand good sound- small size limits bass quality
