FANTASTIC pre....I've used this for tracking drums, vocals, and keyboards (with the DI inputs), and it was outstanding in every instance. The price is low for a Manley product, but the quality is all there - exactly what I would expect. I own a couple of other preamps (ISA 428 & Langevin DVC) and I prefer the FORCE to both of them for overall clean, quality sound and "vibe". I had been a little concerned about the relatively low gain level of the FORCE, but it was never any issue at all. In addition, the noise level of the FORCE is remarkably low, and I would recommend it for recordings where this is critical. There are no AD converters or inserts, but that's not an issue for me - my appreciation of this preamp is strictly based in the stellar quality of the 4 tube pres. All in all, a purchase I'm very glad to have made, and one I anticipate being a main part of my rig for many years to come.

This unit is incredible. It's not what you'd expect from a tube unit as far as saturation and distortion. It has punchy clarity like an API and bigness like a 1073 but different in a class of its own. High fidelity and expensive sounding is what I think of when i hear it.
