It does need to be played loudly to sound its best - just like a vintage Marshall, however the low volume switch works great to bring it down at home. The first run was woofy and had resonance issues and some of the combos experienced some rattling. This issue has been resolved. No issues with that at all with the newer version. The easy to acces tubes and the low power option are great additions. And the unit is definitely built more solid this time around also. Reliability How has it stood up over time? The amp is 12mm birch plywood with 18mm joints which is perfect for holding the 5 watt chassis and 10 inch speaker. The covering is well done and has no ugly corners or seams.
