Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The quality of this instrument is what blew me away. You get every cent of what you pay for. High grade materials throughout, even down to the bone nut & bridge and ebony bridge pins. All the seams are flawless. No label inside - the serial number, model, and make info are branded into the wood.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
General
Your general opinion of this product.
I could not be more happy with the purchase.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The neck feels great in my hand (small to medium hand size). The 1-11/16" nut makes for a somewhat narrow string spacing but this is pretty common across the several Martins I've played in stores.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Tone is remarkably smooth for this type of guitar. Other reviewers attribute this to the mahogany construction. It sounds perfect for fingerstyle blues (or really any fingerpicking for that matter).
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The guitar looks amazing. Understated satin finish with dark mahogany stain. The wood had a rich vanilla scent to it.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action was just fine right out of the box. Low to medium low.
