| This is an awesome instrument,...it came set up and ready to play,...I almost didn't even need to tune it, a tweek here, a tweek there. The quality of this guitar's sound and volume defies description,...mere words are simply inadequate! I picked it up and struck the strings with a Fender pick (the only thing I would buy from Fender anymore!) ,...ahhhhhh, the "near" heavenly sound permeated every corner of the room and viberated to the core of my being, the D-15 Martin is a great guitar, buy one today!!!! | |

This is a keeper! If I only had known sooner. I have played old D-28 guitars that sounded no better! Don't put a pickup in it. Mic it live and it really rings out.
QUALITY:
Bookmatched back is superb.

Action could be lighter. I am correcting this.

No other acoustic sounds like this at this price.

| It's a "stripped-down" Martin--no inlays, binding or glossy finish--just great "old-timey" looks
and that quintessential Martin sound. Every string carries its weight, from gut-grabbing
basses to bell-like trebles. Every time I pick it up it sounds better than the time before, and
even in this climate (very warm and humid) it stays remarkably in tune for long periods.

I'm recording my 1st album in Nashville.
OVERALL:
The d15 is a great guitar at a great price.
Since purchasing the d15 I've went and played guitars that cost as much as $5999.00 and none compare to the sound of this guitar,it has a sound I've been looking for that in the past I've tried to achieve by changing strings and having numorous exspensive work done.
This guitar will be handed done to my son who at 3 has taking a liking to it.
The only thing I could possibly say I would change is I would prefer coated strings in the same gage. |
