Im not an expert w/ respect to acoustic guitars but I know a good quality guitar when i play one. This is a fine quality guitar and as long as Martin resists the [Martin-Gibson] urge to take the price up over 1000 bucks, this is one of the of the most reasonable deals out there. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Balanced and comfortable and has the "just right" Goldilocks feel of the Martin D series guitars Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Mahogany Bright but very balanced. Soft folky projection but still, plenty loud enough Finish How did the stain or paint job look? BEAUTIFUL, dark golden mahogany. gorgeous and woody. Action How was the action out of the box? Mine needed to be lowered a bit, but I play electric guitars mainly. Probably a folk or bluegrass player would say ive got the action too low.
