There are alot of overdrive pedals out there. I personally own about 15 or so. I also own several amps. Now that being said,I use different OD pedals with different heads and amps. I use this particular one to give my 100 watt Carvin V3 head a gain boost and it's always on,with the exception of songs with clean parts. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? N/A Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? See sound Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Nice paint job - typical overdrive green. Action How was the action out of the box? N/A

Built like a tank and I am sure it would take a lot of stomping although I have it mounted in a rack and turn in on and off with a RJM Mini Effects Gizmo so I can control it with a Midi foot controller. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I would consider this a high quality pedal one of the best if not the best overdrive available. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I haven't owned it for a long time( 2 months) but it seems sturdy with its metal casing. Overall Your general opinion of this product. The Maxon od808, in my opinion, is the best overdrive pedal available. It helps boost your tone and and works like a preamp. Definently worth your money. Overdrive, tone, and balance to control the volume Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Tone is overall great when put in a clean channel. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The green finish on the pedal looked awesome. A beastly paint job for a beastly pedal. Action How was the action out of the box? Out of the box everything seemed fine. I immediately plugged it in and it lived up to my expectations.
