Operation is very straight forward. Clip on the stand and push the buttons until you get the brightness of light that works for you. Value has always been a moving target for me - I still remember $5.50 Levis. That said, I didn't bark at the price. This light is proving to meet all my expectations. It's design and size make it multi-purpose too. Use it around the house for those tight places needing light on the honey-do list. I even stuck the thing in a guitar to see if the braces where still tight during a repair; it's that good!
