Semmingly quite well made - hefty MDF cabinets, and generally that's a very good thing!

Sound
How is its Tone?
Very good to excellent for their price range. Pretty flat response across the entire spectrum, although the bass response can be boosted slightly via a switch on the back, useful if you have your setup well away from walls and given that the low end stops around 85 Hz. I generally do not like boosting any frequencies on monitors but in listening to my reference material and the one mix I performed today I found the extra boost does not bloat the sound at all, it is fairly focused and tight. I'll probably keep them flat, but it's nice to know that if I want that little bit of extra kick on the bottom end I can hit the button and it will be there. But make no mistake, for their size and price these things put out a very good amount of bottom.

Just got them today - so time will tell!

I was looking for a small, budget priced set of monitors to see how my mixes translated from my main Yamaha HS 50M/HS10W combo. Based on reviews from this site I decided on these units and was almost TOO happy with them. Overall, I found a quick mix done today and my reference material translated VERY well on to these and when checked in the real-world systems I own (home theater and car) everything was just aces. Nice work, M-Audio!
