General What is your overall opinion of this product? I've had the first generation and it was perfect for recording and even live at concerts. It's a Titan among the midi family. This 2nd generation superseded my expectations, and I like the new body. Feel How is the feel of the keys? Are the controls laid out well? You might have to play it for awhile when your first get it. The keys were stiff.
Love this controller!!!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? So far I think the quality is very good. I take good care of it, but I feel like it'll last quite a while. Definitely worth the money.. a great value. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? I love the faders, knobs and pads... gives you a lot of flexibility. Action is good on the keys but could be a little more realistic feeling. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? This is very easy to use. Since it's a midi controller most of the learning is in the software you're using. Value Was this item an overall good value? Definitely a great value! Wondering if there is going to be a 2nd Gen. Pro version... may be worth the upgrade. I love this controller though!
Difficult, but possible, for live use.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Great quality, if you don't mind plastic. I like the fact that its not heavy and I can pick it up with one hand and threaten observers. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? It has all the features I need, but getting it to do what I want it to do has been a challenge. I've split the thing into zones, with separate volume (faders) controls for each zone on different channels. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? I don't use a DAW. I use this for live work with various external sound modules, so the learning curve has been challenging to say the least. The people at M-Audio need serious help with their manual. The info is there, but good luck finding what you're looking for. Value Was this item an overall good value? Once again, if you're working live with sound modules, this will get the job done. Just be prepared to get Lost in the Translation.
Been using this for the last 8 months or so and i still love it.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The overall quality of this thing is good. Its completely solid and I have yet to have anything break off or stop working. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? There is a lot of cool features for recording. I have all the knobs and sliders set with Reaper DAW to adjust my channel volumes, panning, tempo, metronome, etc etc It also has trigger pads for recording drum beats and all that but those are kind of crappy to be honest. If the pads are important to your work I would recommend getting a separate piece of gear for that. The only other downside i found with the design is the record button. It seems to double-click so when i push to start recording it hits it twice cancelling it out. This could just be a glitch with the DAW i use or a random error in my board who knows. Not a big deal to me though. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? For me it was easy to set up as I already had a basic understanding of recording with midi through an audio interface. Others unfamiliar with the process might be confused but chances are if your buying this you know what your doing and won't run into problems setting it up. Value Was this item an overall good value? Yes imo one of the better keyboard controllers for its price range. Of course you are limited with 61 keys and the feel isnt the best for expressive piano playing but its great for layering melodies, strings, etc in your songs. Basically it is great for recording and studio work but not a live instrument.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The Axiom series are built very well. Of course it's plastic, so I wouldn't recommend throwing it around, but it can survive being dropped. Everything feel solid on these controllers; keys, knobs, buttons. I have two midi controllers and I only bring this one live since it can be a little chaotic and I don't mind if it gets beat up. I save my Novation controller for the studio. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? It's a midi controller with knobs, sliders, and pads, not much else to say. I don't care for the knobs as their sensitivity is lame and you can turn it about 360 degrees and it barelly moves. Other than that, I love the sliders and pads for live use. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? If you're just using it for playing and occasionally some "midi learn" it's very simple plug in and go. That being said, if you really want to go deep into this product it is very complex. The editor does help greatly, but it can still be difficult to figure out. Value Was this item an overall good value? A good buy for the price. I prefer the Novation SLMK2, but this is the next best thing for a lower price.
