I received the the Code 61 just in time since I had to sent the M-Audio Oxygen 61 for USB port repairs. The Code 61 is much way better then the Oxygen. keys are heavier with nice touch. Has for features then what I really need it for. Delivery was very fast. I would recommend this one.

I love everything about this midi board! It has a wide array of functions and can control most DAWS. The feel of the keys brings confidence to you playing if you use it live. Studio work is a breeze with the Code 61.

Im using Studio One as a DAW, and setting up the basic midi is pretty easy. There is no auto mapping of features (knobs/sliders) in the DAW, though, so if you are using it, vs Abelton, ProLogic, etc, you'll have to do a bit of research or learn/mapping manually.
The functions are well laid out for the most part. I kinda wish the drum pad was on the right not the left since im a righty but I knew that going in. I really like the X/Y pad for mouse movements within the DAW on screen but its a pressure type pad, so you have to press down a little bit to get it to register. Key action is pretty good- not soft key, not weighted- kinda in between. Better than say, a basic keyboard, but not as good as the basic Yamaha keyboard/piano that my wife has. The sliders are a little on the firm side- you'll want to slide them up and down a few times to loosen them up.
1 USB cable, 1 power cable. Pretty simple set up and I had no problem getting it to recognize with my computer. The keyboard.

Right out of the box you get MIDI dropouts, held notes, and when you look it up on forums and support you realize there is no support other than telling you to check your USB cable. This problem happens to many people, so it'll probably happen to you. Avoid at all costs!

I called M-Audio today after having my 61 key Code for almost a month. It's not user-friendly when using it to control an external midi device, there are a lot of steps you have to do just to set up layers. The midi-out default setting is turned OFF.
When I spoke with M-Audio, they're aware that the SUSTAIN PEDAL folks... only transmits on 1 LAYER when you have zones set up!!! And they don't intend on fixing it any time soon - this has been going on for 6 months or more now (per their user-knowledge base comments).
At least the Black M-Audio Axiom had this function built in. The semi-weighted keybed does have a nice feel. It sync's well with my DAW (Logic Pro X and Main Stage 3). The sliders/faders have a sturdy but smooth feel, definitely not flimsy.
If M-Audio said we're working on an update to resolve the sustain pedal issue when working with zones and multiple layers, I would consider keeping this board. However... I am unfortunately going to be returning it.

I had to watch a few YouTube vids to get the programming in sync. Only problem I wish they could've printed the actual manual.
Overall... I'm loving the keys. Yes, this is my 1st 61 key. I'm used to the 20's & 40 key compact controllers with that fragile cheap plastic feel. This does not have that.
I will purchase the #code25 for my mobile gig!!!!! I'm so in love with that X/YPad. #MAudio really stepped up their game on this product!!!
