Subject:Great concept and functionality but questionable construction
Quality: The resistance of the wheels, effects and EQ knobs all vary from control to control, but even within the SAME controls there is not a lot of consistency. This doesn't necessarily effect performance, but poorly reflects the construction. The quality is the biggest fault of this otherwise delicious product. It feels cheap and plastic because it IS cheap and plastic!
Features: Wow! Features are endless and you have more than enough tools than a DJ would need to put on a good show. The effects, looping, EQ cuts, and cue points are all fantastic and are very usable in your live set.
Ease of Use: Very easy to use and understand. The manual is very helpful and the interface is user-friendly. You just need those DJ chops and you're ready to roll!
Sound: The sound quality is okay, but you can definitely hear the difference when compared to a normal DJ mixer. The lower maximum output level definitely has something to do with that, as well as the built-in limiter.
Overall: Overall a great product. I LOVE not having to deal with CD's or vinyl and the bulk of their respective players. Being a digital DJ really opens up a whole new world of possibilities, and the Xponent is a fantastic gateway!
Value: This is a good price for a mid-level controller. Given the quality of construction, however, I may have knocked off $100 or so.
