Very helpful for the initial set up or new head replacement.
Ease of Use:
Easy to follow instructions included. Great tool for the initial tuning of new drum heads. Get you in the ball park for the fine tuning.
Sound:
Have'nt heard anything out of it yet. :)

Great Value- the Drum Dial is a qood way to get your heads right in the ball park, then you can tweak them for tonality.

Ease of Use:
Very easy to use. Place it on the drum head in front of each tuning lug and match the readings. It helped train my ear to see what I was actually hearing.
Sound:
Drumdial work very well. I can tune a drum faster and better than the torque style tuners using the drumdial. My drums haven't sounded this good in years.
Value:
Excellent value. This is a high quality precision machined drum tuner and it's made in the USA! It has an excellent warranty.
Durability:
Extremely durable, hefty device. I have used for almost 8 months now

It will pinpoint the correct tuning at each lug position faster and more accurately than you can by ear.
Sound:
The Drum Dial will likely improve your overall tone but more importantly it will enable you to reproduce the exact tuning you had previously with the old head. Your tuning will be associated with a fixed value on the dial you had with the old head, resulting in much easier way to reach that exact point evenly around the drum in much less time with the new head.
Overall:
Some musicians argue that they don't need such a device to tune their drums, that it is only for people who cannot do it on their own. Well I disagree. I can tune my drums by sound but it takes a good deal longer and you must have a quiet room. The Drum Dial can help you tune your drums accurately in a noisy gig environment where you cannot hear the drum well enough to tune it correctly. It has been a lifesaver for me on gigs fine tuning my kit before I go on stage or at rehearsal where there typically is loud music playing in the background.
Value:
A little pricey, but the unit is built well and performs well.
