I've used, and preferred, the OnStage stand without the "flip-it" extension for years, so when I saw a scratch-and-dent deal on this one I grabbed it. I don't find the "flip-it" part to be especially handy to use, so I just leave it upside down, nested between the legs. It's probably a little more stable if you use the extension, but it works so well without it that I don't bother with it. Simple works well for me.

I usually get the standard flip-it 3-legged stand, but thought I'd try this. It seems like it is more stable, and has a lot of heft to it, lowers the center of mass. I like it, will get another.

Very sturdy construction. Will definitely secure your axe from any inadvertent bumps onstage. Worth the extra bucks!
