I have always used traditional fold-up music stands in the past. However, this clamp-on version is so much easier to transport in a bag and can be tilted to suit your needs onstage. The construction is sturdy and should make it durable for years to come.

Easy to set up.. Easy to move. You don't need those heavy duty stands any more.
As a soloist moving equipment by my own, this becomes a good way to get things done easy and fast.

Easy to attach to mic stand, easy to adjust. Seems sturdy enough, but time will tell how it holds up. I originally just wanted something to hold my slide for quick access during gigs and thought about going with a DIY solution but for the price, this was a no-brainer. And our set list is much easier to read now, so... Happy so far.

Works good if you place it on the vertical section of a mic stand. Does not work on the boom section, which is where I wanted to place it. I personally removed extension clamp part and mounted the tray directly to a seperate mic stand to get it to the location I need.
