This is a really good stand for the price. I got this stand to hold my guitar temporarily, while I am remodeling. I am very impressed at the structural integrity of this stand. Especially for the price. I definitely recommend mounting your guitar on the wall. But it is not feasible, then I wouldn’t spend hundreds on a stand. This stand will work just fine.

I do like the fact that you can chose to lock the stand once your guitar is rested on it . I do not like that the pieces on the ends that are supposed to grip the floor come off so easily and I have already lost one of them. Other than that the stand works just fine.

I use these around the house as I like to keep a guitar close at hand wherever I am at home. They are inexpensive and the more you order, the lower the price. Only downside is the tubular construction can be finicky if you're trying to display your guitar perfectly upright, as it tends to lean a bit to the left.

I view guitar stands from a very utilitarian perspective.
As such, I do not want to spend a ton of money but it MUST be secure and not harm my guitars' finishes; the On Stage XCG4 fits that bill perfectly.
Sturdy and well padded it holds my instruments safely.

Got these to hold a couple more guitars that I took down from wall hangars to go with others I have. Very easy to assemble and very stable and sturdy design. Sits slightly lower than other brands that I have. About 1 inch closer to the floor. Retainer strap goes on and off easily.

This is my 2nd set of these XCG4 Guitar stands they are very stable and the padding is nice, it doesn't scuff the Guitars. The other set I have had for over a year and the Padding is as good as it was when I bought them. I needed a new guitar stand and found this one at American Music Supply. I like it because it is stable when supporting an acoustic guitar. The bottom and top supports are padded. The top support is adjustable for height. A stretchable strap closure secures the guitar neck in the stand. It was priced very reasonably for quality provided quality. It comes with a very nice black finish. I've had it about 3 weeks and it has met all my expectations.

This stand is amazing for the price. It's sturdy and very well built. It probably took less than 5 minutes to set it up and assemble out of the box. It also has a rubber piece at the top of the stand to help lock your guitar/bass into place so it doesn't tip forward or anything like that. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this stand. It does exactly what you need it to do and it works well. No complaints.

Initially purchased this as a holder until a custom-made wall storage unit arrived, but this is so sturdy and protective of the instrument, that I’m pausing on the wall hanger for now. It’s larger and far better made than anticipated, and has ample padding to protect the instrument. I feel more confident storing the instrument on this because of how sturdy it is—clearly built for years of use. One thing you may notice: the first couple of uses (taking the instrument on and off) there is a settling of the stand as it adjusts to the weight of the instrument.

I own two of these stands and use them daily to hold mt Fender P Basses. They are stable and work perfectly. I have never figured out why I would want to use the included neck retaining band so I have removed them and have the hooked to the stand's neck so that when I do figure it out they won't be lost. Maybe if I ever play a cruise ship? I like the stands and have never had any instance where my instruments were harmed because of them. 4 stars because they take a second to pack, otherwise they're great.

It’s a fine stand. No complaints. There are better ones but I didn’t pay for a better one, I paid for a stand that can rest a guitar without causing harm, and will last as long as I allow it to with normal use.
If I wanted to pay more, I’d expect stronger materials with more weight, perhaps more aesthetic appeal, or maybe an interesting feature or two. But this is not that stand. This stand does what it needs to adequately.
You should purchase this stand. Unless you are fancy, in which case I suggest you purchase a stand that costs more money and likely abuses the law of diminishing returns with features that look good to a shopper but are ultimately useless. This stand is for utilitarians who get tired of holding thier guitar from time to time.

This Stand i bought as a place holder while i look for a better stand for my guitars and bass, but it turns out to be a very well made stand. Its not the cheap metal that you could bend with your hands. It has very soft arms to hold your instrument as well, adjusting it for acoustics and bass's is also extremely easy. Feels great when you tighten it, seems to lock into place. Even carried my Bass in it to test it out, Its very sturdy. For the Price its a great little stand! The Rubber Locking thing doesn't feel like the cheap ones you can get, i have a cheaper stand i bought from my local music shop and it broke within the first day of getting it. These things hook on snugly and feel to be very high quality. Actually highly impressed by everything i've bought so far!

What I enjoy the most is I can feel confident my axe is standing up safe & sound. In the studio, onstage or in my bedroom! Nothing to dislike about it at all.

This product can not be beat for the price.The On Stage XCG4 Guitar Stand is light and sturdy and great for home usage,and I particular like the stands low profile to the floor. It’s a cheap basic stand, it does it’s job and is padded and has a neck strap to help prevent your guitar from coming of the stand, all my guitars live on these at home and I’m more then happy for the price. Couldn’t ask for more.

Fit form and function are exactly what requirements this item fulfills.. with a touch of style added. My bass guitar fits perfectly and rests perfectly within the stand's cradle.. and the locking feature for securing the instruments neck from tilting, tipping over, and falling.. resulting in possible damage to my instrument.. is quite effective.. as is the foam rubber insulation which prevents any direct wood to metal contact.. which could result in scratching the polyurethane coating as well as the wood itself. I am quite satisfied with this guitar stand.. and I will definitely recommend it to my guitar / bass guitar playing friends and colleagues. I'm also very happy that American Musical Supply had this item in inventory.. it's a highly useful item at a very affordable price.

I have always used On Stage stands but they seemed to have gone down in quality... these newer stands seem flimsier than their older line and it may not seem like much, but for storage and travel, you used to be able to loosen the knob and push the upper arm down into its sleeve... the way this knob notch is made, you can't. I found that you can take it out and put it in the underside though but its less convenient... the old design was great, not sure why they changed it.

If you truly love your instruments, spend a little more for the Fender Universal A-Frame.
I purchased both and the On Stage, OK for an acoustic guitar, does not support bass guitars very securely. On the other hand the adjustable Fender is Awesome. Worth the extra money.

I purchased this stand as a way to be able to switch easily between my acoustic bass and my electric while I am practicing. Sometimes on a whim I want to try the acoustic where I would normally play my electric. Having it right handy on this stand has made this transition seamless. This is the basic guitar stand. Great for use in your home if you are not going to move it around and if you are not in a hurry when picking up or putting your guitar back. The base is not as stable as it could be. The rack on which the guitar body sits, is flimsy. The stand will not stay straight upright. But having said that, if you want the basics and you don't want to spend more money, it is worth the price.

This stand is OK, but I wish there was a little more robust option. It's very lite and would be easy to knock over the instrument and stand. Using it for a bass, it is a little precarious. It didn't cost much, so I'm not disappointed, but I wish there was a better choice.

Great quality, not wonky or wobbly.
Only complaint I have is that while the neck rest padding completely protects the neck finish, I wish it was padded with a little thicker foam material. Its not bad but I would have done it a bit differently.

Wow, someone goofed on this one! I have 10 or more of these stands. Most are pretty good, and the only damage to them, I did in travel. However, I bought one for my granddaughter's new Strat and this one arrived in POOR condition. The screw to tighten it was stripped beyond use and unusable at all. The upright that holds the neck could not be tightened. It would have cost more to send back than I paid for it, so I cannabalized parts from another to make this one useable.
Poor on this one. others were OK in the past. Someone was asleep at the job on this one.

The stand barely weights anything and is easy to place your bass or guitar on. It has cushion on the neck fork and the body support so your intrument will not get scratched. It is like placing your instrument on a cloud.
The product is excellent for it's price- cheap and durable. I don't think it'll ever break down.

Metal covered in black vinyl and some parts in softer no mar material. Its not a paint or stain but it looks nice for a guitar stand i guess 0.o
hmm... action. Stick one part in a hole and tighten a screw and stick the other part in the other hole. If u move it u do it again... i don't think thats the action this box is for, but its easy to do...

This is a fine stand if you pay attention to placing the guitar on it. ou really won't get a lot of improvements no matter how much money you spend. Some may be a klitle more stable, but this one is fine. The short back leg is not a problem. If you're an animal with your equipment, use your case instead.

Good enough for me.
I only use these in the studio, so they are never taken on the road, so I cannot say how they would hold up after constant setting up and breaking down.

This stand simply holds your guitar up and it seems durable as long as you don't bang it with a hammer you'll be fine.
The only problem I have is that the bar doesn't stay flat so if you don't carefully place your guitar in there, your guitar will slide to the side but who's going to toss their guitar around?
