Product Review I heard my truly talented vocalist friend Ms. Tammi Brown sing on this mic during a show and I was completely blown away by the warmth and depth of her voice on the mic! It is every singer’s dream mic. :) I am upgrading from a Shure SM58. My friend has worked with the legendary Quincy Jones! I had to buy this mic!

Product Review Been singing professionally for 6 years and gone through some mics throughout the years. This is by far the best mic I’ve ever sang on. I stumbled across this mic after searching through the web. And yes, like most, I was pretty skeptical of the price range. But I followed my gut and pulled the trigger and really happy I did. My voice has never sounded so clear and upfront with this mic. A huge thank you to Amercian Musical and for delivering my mic in two days. You guys are great!

Best live vocal mic

Product Review Before purchasing this mic, I had the Shure Beta 87a and the Rhode S1, both of which are handheld condenser mics. This totally blows the Shure out and on my vocals compares favorably to the Rhode mic. This is my go to mic, the Rhode is now my backup. You will not be disappointed.

Product Review After trying many different brands and models of mics (all types, dynamic, condenser, etc), I finally decided to give the KMS 105 a shot. Unlike other stage mics, the 105 stays super clean, not boomy, even when you're right up on it. I sing a variety of material from pop to metal and it has yet to disappoint me. I had no issues with feedback even during a live metal show in a boxy sounding room with poor acoustics. The carry case is a nice too as well. Additionally, this mic will help you improve your pitch and tone because you'll be able to hear your voice clearly, with less influence from the gear.

After watching so many microphone reviews on YouTube it came down to this or the Earthworks srv40.

Product Review After watching so many microphone reviews on YouTube it came down to this or the Earthworks srv40. I chose this for mainly price and just basically flipped a coin. I have a baritone voice so it’s kinda hard to eq and make sound clear. To be totally honest I could not hear a major difference in the house from the sennheiser 945 I was using before. I sang into both side by side and it was hard to tell which one is which. It has helped with making my in ear monitor mix a whole lot better. The other microphones were either too harsh or too bassy and hard to sit into the mix of my in ears. This sits really well and I can hear my voice without busting my ears. So if it has made a significant difference in my in ear monitors it makes me believe that it’s sounding good in house. I think this is worth it. It’s cleaned up my headset mix and helps me hear my voice without me having to turn it up. It sounds natural and sweet. I don’t think the average ear will be able to tell a big difference in a mix. They might be able to if you’re using a lower end mic like an sm58 or a sennheiser 835. If you use in ear monitors and you are struggling to get your vocals to be heard without having it way too loud, this is it. Which by default I would say helps with your vocals in the FOH mix.

Product Review Full disclosure, this mix has been on my Mic bucket list for a long time, actually since it first hit the market years ago! When I finally had the chance to pull the trigger and get one, I jumped at the chance. Not that it bothered me, but I thought it would be bigger, as it has such a distinctive look that it's always very noticeable when I've seen it on TV. And when I first plugged it in, and compared it to my Sennheiser e935 and Sennheiser MKE 4032 mics, it didn't sound as bright and I had to boost the treble a little on the Eq to match the sound. Interestingly, as Neumann and Sennheiser are connected as sister companies, the shape and design of the Neumann KMS 105 and my Sennheiser MKE 4032 are very similar looking. But once I started to use Neumann KMS 105, I noticed it made the vocals really stand out in the mix, much better than the Sennheiser mics. Highly recommended!!

Extremely well made. Heavy, solid... I have confidence in it. The SOUND! It is clean and clear, without sounding overly bright and sibilant like the Beta 58, or pretty much the whole range of Sennheiser mics. This is a killer for female vocals, and it's damn good for male vox too. Well, it's a microphone. Sing into it :-) Actually, the only issue you may have is phantom power. This is a phantom-powered mic. If you have any problems, change the mic cable - most problems with phantom-powered miss come from questionable mic cables. They may work fine for dynamic miss, but your mic cable needs to be in good condition for it to work with phantom power. It's the best you can get on stage. Clean, clear, without sounding overly bright and sibilant.

Solid and heavy. It definitely has a tone that other mics lack. I've used a beta 87a for years, and heared an instant improvement with the Neumann. It also made a dramatic improvement in the sound quality of my wireless in-ears! It actually makes it easier to sing! Plug and play. Be cautious of the gain, as this mic is "hot". The tone is crisp and brilliant. For lack of better term, it seems more "precise" than the Shure betas.

I knew it was well made just by the name I could tell a marked improvement in clarity as soon as I sang through this mic!! Also backfield rejection was remarkable- no feedback! I think it is so clear though that a windscreen or dess-er is neccessary- someone remarked about a high end "noise"- I think they where hearing the S's Again some processing "dessing"would help- especially if you are a less than pro singer. Unbelievable tone and clarity

Your general opinion of this product. I've been using the KMS105 for a few months. I admit that I was a little reluctant to buy one due to the high price but can now report that it was worth every dime. The other members of the band have commented that my vocals do sound richer and more natural when compared to the sound I was getting using a Sure SM58.

QUALITY:
A quality built mic.

FEATURES:
No gimicks, just a straight up mic.

EASE OF USE:
I really like singing into this mic. The flat wind screen is comfortable if you like to kiss your mic while singing.

VALUE:
Pricey but delivers the goods.

SOUND:
One listen and you'll be hooked.

STYLE:
Soft rock, easy listening

MUSIC EXPERIENCE:
Weekends and weddings since 1980

Your general opinion of this product. I've have tried most mics...for the dollar it is by far the most clear and intelligible mic I've used. Also, slight nuances in vocal reproduction are possible whereas with dynamic mics just is not, e.g., humming with lips tight, whistling. Easy to EQ, smooth response throughout, and no distortion in the bass due to close proximity. A great mic.

Your general opinion of this product. Super clear sounding, nice presence peak, built in highpass at around 100 hz i believe, needs no EQ for most singers, only drawback i've seen is that it is susceptible to plosives.... say compared to a Beta 87A. Not a showstopper, i've angled the mic about 30 to 45 degrees upwards instead of singing "straight in" and backed off the mic 1/2" to 1" more than usual and the plosives are much more manageable. Having said that, the KMS105 captures significantly more detail than the Beta 87A in my experience and this makes the "learning curve" worth it. I plan to buy at least one more ASAP to supplement my Shures. (Running Monster SP1000 or Blue KIWI cables into 1604VLZPRO or Roland MMP2 preamp into a DBX DDP, Rane PE17, and Lexicon PCM80 through either 20/20 BAS or Mackie SR1530's. All wired up with Monster 500 series balanced interconnects)
