Great sound and great price. I was looking for a bass synth to hit low notes that I can't get on my bass guitar. This is a great edition to my production. I wanted a moog but didn't want to pay $2K this is the next best option. I'm satisfied with this investment.

I’m a bass player and I was looking for a synth to use live.
I got the Novation Bass Station 2 and I’ve been really happy with it.
First and foremost it’s a great sounding and very versatile synth.
You can power it off of USB or even off of a portable battery. The keys are velocity sensitive with aftertouch. It makes for a great small midi controller. Every control on the unit sends and receives midi CC commands, so you can capture a performance turning knobs. I think it’ll be a great first synth for somebody to learn synthesis because it’s very hands on with almost a “knob per function” layout and has 128 preset locations. I’m very happy with it.
It incorporates very nicely into my bass rig.
Low profile, but a workhorse.

I have had several synths and wanted to go for that "Moog like" bass sound. I get great bass sounds (and a lot more). I wish I had bought it sooner. I have been looking at the Bass Station II for years now. I've had it maybe a month now and love it. I love the bass but it is good for more than just bass.

I've only had this thing a month and it is already the centerpiece of my rig. Between AFX mode, paraphonic mode, the oscillator error feature, glide divergence, and envelope re-triggering this thing is a gem.
My only complaints are
1. I wish you could make fully custom arp rhythms, and...
2. that the arp could be started with midi sync like the Arturia Microbrute can do. That way you could more easily sync it without having to use an external sequencer.
But compared to the insanely awesome things you CAN do with it, this is just a small nag.

This bass synth gave me the remaining piece to my bass setup that I needed. It’s very versatile and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. The fact that this synth is very light and easy to haul was also a big plus for me. I love it and it’ll definitely remain in my travel setup.

This thing has some serious bass. Kick it up a few octaves and you have lead powerhouse! The user programmable preset storage makes going back to your sounds real easy. Especially if you had any time on analog synths before. This thing welcomes beginner to pro.

I was skeptical at 1st because I have never played synth bass before on a keyboard. But boy was I surprised how easy this little guy made the learning experience for me. Everything is right in front of you and somewhat self explanatory. It has inspired me to get more creative with any genre of music I play. The only thing I would ask is that it already come with the 2.5 update installed. But that really wasn't that hard to do myself. Easy to play and fun to learn on. Rivals the best for me. Especially for a musician on a budget.

This has been an awesome way to jump back back into the analog world! I’m loving the feel of everything- the knobs and keys, even the switches feel good. It has enough features to cover a wide variety of sounds, and the aftertouch is great! A wonderful first choice for those just learning synthesis too as it has the two oscillators, sync, and ring mod so you can learn the basics and some more intermediate/advanced techniques. Just wish it had a reverb or delay!

I bought this from AMS several years ago (3 possibly 4, cannot quite remember). I use it in church to play guitar type lead lines (we do not have an electric guitarist only acoustic). It cuts through, my pads, the bass and drums just fine... Sounds like a beast... I also use it for symphonic metal. Again it slices through the mix like a sharp sword through... well you get the picture... I will eventually buy a Moog... but this will still be there....because I love the sound... It does take some time to get accustomed to creating patches. The arp works well, the sound is beefy, but can very quickly turn nasty and gnarly. I also use it to control an instance of Omnisphere via USB and it handles it well.

10 minutes into playing and love it! Endless possibilities. I would recommend getting a nice reverb/delay unit for this. Great build. However, I wish the mod wheels had a better feel. Not a big deal though because the rest of the knobs are sturdy. Nice compact size it fits perfectly on my on-stage orchestra style music stand. Excellent addition to my rig!

I can't say enough good things about the Bass Sation II. It has all the features I need. It's great for people that are new to analog syths but has a ton of advanced features that will keep veteran players satisfied. I have owned MOOGs and old school KORGs but this little dude is the best bang for your buck. I couldn't be happier.

Well worth the money. Searched the Web for hours before buying my Bass Station II to see it would be more than just a go to Bass Synth and found nothing. So I took the chance and bought it. It does do a lot more than just a go to Bass Synth. The Triangle and Sine waves are real nice for producing those Flute and Bells tones. The Oscillator Mod dial even helps create those FM Syth tones with an anolog warmth and a dirty crunch like the Korg DS-8. It just pushed my Korg DS-8 into the closet. It's also a great Drone synth. Build is a durable plastic but solid with great knobs and sliders. Filter is very smooth, no stepping, and analog so no aliasing. There are plenty of videos out there showing you it's Bass capabilities, but it does do a lot more than just that. It can be a great Ambient Lead Synth with some Delay and Reverbs Added.. Peace out..

I come from the world of analogue synths, but have moved into the world of VSTs. I must say as soon as I heard it I remembered exactly why I love those analogue toys. They have that fat, thick, big beast of a sound that we all love. My only gripe, I want more keys.
