The ease of use and powerful sound make this a real winner. I have always been fascinated by synths and this is a great place to start. It works great in the studio and at the live gig. I have only had it for less than a month but so far I love it.The latch function and ease of controls help allot for a novice keyboard player

I was searching for a synthesizer with a lot of sounds i could tweek and edit.i wanted something with a vocoder so i could add effects and make cool sounds. I kept watching demos and i liked what i saw.I took a chance and ordered it.from the time i opened the box(at lunchtime) til i went to bed i played with it!..Warning!!its hard to put down so many sounds and i like the fact that you can tweek them all to edit the sounds your way..I absolutely love it.cant wait to do a performance with it..Now i just need a gig bag for it to carry it around.happy customer here

This is a fun little keyboard! No issues taking this guy along, wherever. Whether just getting into synthesizers or even if it's not even close to your first sweep.. this is a great little synth, with a great little price & a great big sound!
Using the software editor (which runs inside your DAW as a VST only) You can really get into some sound design and tweaking. The visuals will definitely help a newbie understand what is happening to the sound as you tweak all the parameters. Of course the vocoder is fun as well.
Also I always appreciate a line input to run sound from another piece of gear thru and utilize the effects. 5pin midi connectors is also nice (no breakout cables needed) as well as the 1/4inch outs. USB MIDI also on board and you can power the synth via usb which is a bonus as well. No battery op on this guy, which, is usually nice with all the smaller gear available being able to jam with no electricity.. although a good usb battery recharge pack and your portable.
All in All the Mininova is a a great addition to any setup or a great 1st. Add a Novation Circuit and you can really unleash some creativity!! As always AMS is on point with the fast shipping & awesome payment plans!!

Bought this to replace my old Microkorg and I couldn't be happier. The tones are wonderful. Great pads. Super usable vocoder. Easy to menu dive and tweak sounds and find something musical.
I've had it for 5-6 months and use it every time I sit down to my DAW.
The only thing i wish (and this is the same with all these mini synths) is the tiny keys. I'd love something with full-size keys in a still small package.

I’m not a professional keyboard/synth musician but I’ve used keyboards and synths for decades to score my film productions and add texture and fullness to compositions on bass and sax. This little keyboard is a gem. Right out of the box I was able to figure out how it worked and was able to experiment with altering the very good built-in sounds. I haven’t dug into storing custom patches yet but from what I have seen, it has enormous flexibility. It has great connectivity for digital and analog situations and would be great live or in a studio. It’s got a great big Bang for the Buck factor.

I've owned 3 of these beasts. They sound great, the editing software via the computer is solid and all around Novation really came back to form with the Nova series.
I've owned 3 because I'm a performing musician and can be a little rough live with them. Generally I replace some of the side plate screws with guitar pegs and wear it a la keytar style and even though they weren't built for that.. it's fantastic.
I also play in another group and use a second solely as a vocoder.
Easy to fix, great sounding and inexpensive. Easily one of the BEST synths to come out in the last decade.

Absolutely cool little synth. I am a guitarist that wanted a keyboard for demo’ing in my project studio. The sounds are really decent. The synth is relatively easy to figure out how to use. It’s also very compact but powerful. I am really glad I purchased it.

I use this little thing in combination with electric guitar and drum synthesizers. I have small hands and the tiny keys are actually pretty fun to play when you get into a groove. I used to own the ultranova and I actually think this mininova has more charm. It’s also just so inexpensive and portable. It’s not for everyone, but for my needs it’s really useful.

I've played everything from Yamahas and Rolands to Korgs - this little guys is hands down my favorite. The Mininova is a very serious machine. I'll give it my "Best in Class" award. The best part - you'll be playing within 5 minutes of opening the box. This was made for musicians - not computer programmers . I love it

While lightweight, it has a very solid feel, is stable on tier two of my keyboard stand and gives the impression it would travel well. At this price point I don't think I'd find better.
The Arpeggiator is Killer, and the Latch button is a bonus Lay down the Arp line you want, come over it with my other keyboard or with the guitar. Pre-programmed sounds are excellent, and there are enough so I don't have to spend time programming new ones if I don't want to. That's a big benefit. This is my first foray into synth, and I'm very pleased.
Set it up on the stand, plugged in the power cord, connected headphones (also works into a small Roland Cube amp until I figure out what kbd amp or PA I want to add), turned it on, and out of the box it's intuitive and unintimidating. That's important for us old-timers out here. I'm recommending it as 'The' toy to add to the collection to all my home musician friends.
Connected to quality headphones the sound is what I would expect. Crystal clear, well differentiated voicings. If electronics can be said to be 'musical', then the Mininova is musical indeed. Through a small Roland Cube guitar amp connected to the headphone out, it's way more than anticipated. I'll do a follow up once I have a small PA or stereo keyboard amp up in the office/studio room.
Your general opinion of this product.
I'm completely pleased. It arrived well packaged, sooner than anticipated, easy to set up. Clear instructions in the manual. I still have to get on line and register.
After pianos, Yamaha PSR 550, I didn't know what to expect with the mini keys. After 60 seconds it was a breeze and I can alternate between keyboards seamlessly.
As a new owner and user of a little over a week, I can't imagine a better value for the money. And part of it, really, is the 'cool' factor with the blue color and the backlit pads. And the free Tee shirt is pure frosting.

Ease of use and very dependable
Great for both recording and live playing. The keys feel cheap though.
Fun to use and tinker with. The software to link to a computer is very difficult.
