Great, responsive machine!
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
LIKE A TANK! Crossfader is very reponsive and solid. Sturdy buttons, not too hard, not too soft. Haven't owned it too long yet, so will see how long the touchstrips last on it.
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
The SLICER! This thing, in conjunction with the effects section, can make for some really intense beat matching and song segues. Also, can't deny those touchstrips, not quite as functional as jog wheels, but still serve the same overall purpose. You just have to select different modes to do certain things (such as drop ins, scratch, pitch shift, etc)
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
Very easy to use. If you are used to jog wheels, but don't really need them, this is a great buy! Layout is perfect in reference to where the cue buttons (also serve as slicer and looper) are to the touchstrips and crossfader. Easy to navigate the whole controller, basically. The FX section is really easy to use and manipulate, and it's song search area is super quick and easy to get used to in Serato Itch.
How is the tone?
Line level outs good quality, and adjustable cut/boost in menu of Serato or Traktor software if you need more or less output. One gripe though on this though, and only one. Here it is. The EQ section in software for the mic/aux input on this way to sensative. Make a little minor adjustment, and it throws it off quite a bit. Recommended using seperate in line mix mixer or something similar if you wish to get better control over the mix intput, and leave the eq on the software for the aux/mic flat. Otherwise.. good.
Your general opinion of this product.
Overall, worth it, over and over again. Great for someone who wants to step away from the same ole scratch on the wheels.
Was this item an overall good value?
Oh yeah! Very good overall value. Great price, great machine and it performs very well. Some consider this an entry level controller, but I think it's performance should be graded a little higher than that. Not quite as elaborate as some of the 800-1000 dollar controllers out there, but this thing will MAKE you have fun even if you don't want to! It's rather addicting once you get your hands on it.
