I don't really trust mounting a hanger into drywall. This does come with wood screws and I recommend that they're used. The unfortunate fact is that 2x4 studs in home construction have not been used in years. So, it's a good idea to place a mounting piece behind the included piece and then mount on the wall. All things considered, it holds firm. I have one guitar that has an extremely small head stock and it nearly slipped through the hanger portion that is meant to hold it. I had to modify the resting area to make it more secure. It is fair to note that any guitar hanger may have to be modified and having a great deal invested in every piece perhaps makes me take extreme precautions. The fact that the hanger can be separated from the mounting was a helpful design characteristic. I just installed this today, so time will tell whether or not this is able to do the job that it is intended to do. It's rated for up to 200lbs. So I think it should work well for me.

I have several of the old style without the protective material and they are like new after many years of use. I don't really recommend hanging guitars by their necks, but people have done it since the beginning of time all over the world so its probably not a big deal. I have never had any issues with them hanging by the neck. The product is top quality.

Mounting is easy, material it's made of is very sturdy.
It swivels to accommodate the head stock of the guitar.it's got a guiding slot that you line up with pin molded on the shaft of the fork that holds the guitar, so you can separate the fork from the mount it self. The pin on the shaft also works as a lock that keeps the fork in place and will allow it to swivels.
I took a chance, I liked what I saw on the picture, bought two, glad I did. Very happy with my purchase.

The wall anchors were not heavy enough in my opinion so I used some heavy duty wall (75lb) anchors I keep on hand.
Very easy to install. Works and looks great.

A bit pricy for such a simple item but look, work great,and protect guitar finish while doing so. I hang guitars everywhere in house and these are perfect.

Seems to be very well made. The arms swivel to hold whatever weight is there. For instance, the head of my strat does not widen evenly, yet the hanger adjusts and the guitar hangs straight up and down.
Just put it up, but it's very heavy-duty. I feel like I could hang off it...

The new and improved one is made out of a high grade fiber glass and a nice firm but soft molded on rubber fingers to hold the guitar.
Have not had it long but you can tell it is made to last. Hey it is made to hold up to 200 pounds so I think a guitar that ways 10 pounds max is nothing for it. Plus having 3 screws holding it on makes me feel a lot more confident in it.

Great wall hanger for your guitars very trustworthy. The one great thing is it comes with some screw in drywall anchors you don't have to hang them on a stud you can just hang them right to the drywall. Because we all know that there isn't always a stud where we need it and with the screw in anchors you put it where you want it and don't have to worry. Just mark the holes with the supplied template screw in the anchors nice and solid and screw the hanger to the anchors hang your guitar that easy. Don't try to hang it on thin paneling like in old trailers. I have used the screw in anchors for years in construction and know they are reliable I have hung some very heavy stuff up with them and three of them for a guitar is overkill but also very comforting to know they are there.

I've had mine for about three years. It has a very solid design. I'm never afraid that my guitar is going to come off the wall even with regular use. (Taking the guitar down and putting it back up.) The three screws with a triangular pattern, in my opinion, is better than the single or double screw. I know my guitar is safe! Love it!

Very sturdy. Can support my entire weight when I hang by it.
For the last week it hasn't deteriated one bit.

Being only 4'2", I can suspend myself from the floor for shows now. No more falling on stage and the crowd can see me.
Kind of uncomfortable on the back and neck. Takes getting used to.
Really can't see it when hanging from it. Not really a concern for me.
Once again, not a concern for me. I guess one could put a flame paint job on it and it would impress the girls.
Removed from box, attached to wall, have fellow band member pick me up and hang me on it. POW! Instant Vivacious Verbination! No more rocking out eye to eye with your crotch.

I got tired of the clutter of the basic floor stands taking up my valuable studio floor space and decided to try a few wall hangers.
Why did I wait so long?
Very easy to install with supplied template and all required hardware. Necks fit easily into holder. The descriptions always say all metal with a cushioned coating that is safe for all instruments. Well, I consider it more of a hard rubber than a cushioned coating and that concerns me just a bit. I may ultimately add cloth sleeves to the hanger, just for piece of mind.
I have ordered 2 additional regular hangers and 2 wide hangers for my 12 string guitar and 6 string bass. This will give me a total of 5, so I guess I like them a lot even with the hard rubber concerns.

As I mentioned in my review for the regular version, the only thing that concerns me is the hard rubber on the hanger. The description describes it as a cushioned coating safe for all instruments. The unit itself is fantastic, very solid and secure and definitely gives you a good feeling. The Wide version is perfect for a jumbo 12 string or a 6 string bass, which is what I have hanging. I now have 5 of these on the wall and not only does my studio look really great but I cleared up a tremendous amount of floor space and clutter that was always an accident waiting to happen. Highly recommended!

I have a small room, 3 guitars, and 3 basses...imagine the floor clutter with floor stands...now, they are up High and out of the way, out of reach of kids, and my dog will stop wakeing me by playing guitar with his Tail!!(no joke)...Guitars are beautiful and should be displayed...Buy these....so so worth it...oh, and Be excelent to each other, and Party on Dudes!

QUALITY:
This thing is built like a tank!! Not like the competitors' products who make you feel like your $1000 guitar or bass is hanging by a twig sticking out of the wall.
FEATURES:
The soft grips are awesome--NO MARKS left on your instrument! Also, the swiveling head is great, as is the ability to remove the hanging arms without actually removing the wall plate from the wall.
EASE OF USE:
SUPER EASY to use! Installs in less than 5 minutes, and even a novice handyman can do it!
VALUE:
This product is right on in its price/value ratio. I might balk at paying much more, but at this price point, there is nothing else I would even consider. Even if I got the competitors' product sent to me for free, I would still buy this product and use it over anything else on the market.

It's made of metal which means it can support my heavier guitars (Les Paul for example).
EASE OF USE:
Very easy to install. Just drill a few holes in your wall and fasten them on. Very simple. NOTE: to be safe, drill into a stud in your wall.
VALUE:
I'd prefer it to be cheaper, but the price did not deter me from buying 4 of them.
SOUND:
There is no sound! Although, I've noticed that when the wall shakes (ie, an earthquake, train passing by), my acoustic guitar will resonate. Does that qualify for sound?
