Ive had this amp for 9 months. I have owned many tube amps and even build my own. I owned a thunderverb 50 and regret selling it so i picked this up. I'll start by saying the only similarities between this and the thunderverb are that they are orange. I also own a micro dark, the gain channel is much more like the micro.
The gain channel does the rockerverb/British Crunch thing very well. Looking at the schematic shows that the gain channel is identical to the Rockerverb. I don't love the gain channel, it is basically a one note pony although that note is a good one.
The clean channel is where this amp shines. It is the perfect pedal platform and it is very very loud. Even with half the power tubes switched out its loud. it is more than capable as a gigging amp.
The biggest quirk for me is the volume difference between channels. It is kind of ridiculous and makes switching between channels live very difficult. Also on my head the clean channel volume pot is scratchy and unusable at the very lowest setting but i plan to replace the pot as i assume its just my unit.
All in all it is a good solid amp. If your looking for a barebones pedal amp its perfect. The fx loop is also very very good.

The Orange TH30 is an amazingly clear amp while running at 30 or 15 watts, you can hear every string distinctly even among several other instruments.
The low end is GIGANTIC.
Running at 7.5 watts gives the clean a little bit more dirt and twang, which is unfortunate because with how loud this amp is, you'll probably be running at 7.5 often.
Despite the 7.5 watt setting, the TH30 is still the best, basic (in the best way), plug in your pedalboard and play amp head I've ever had.

This amp has so many easily available tones between the simple shape control and the highly adjustable gain knob. I play mainly heavier music and this amp has plenty of gain on hand to handle anything in the metal genre. It does take pedals well. The gain channel feels a bit mushy on it's own but after throwing an overdrive pedal in front of it the feel and sound tightens right up. The clean channel is great also it's not the fender or Vox chimney clean, but what you do get is a great clean representation of your guitar tone. This amp pairs well with the crush pro 4x12 cabinet and gets stupid loud if needed. Since I mostly play at home I really like the ability to select the different wattages 30, 15, or 7 watts. If your wanting that orange character with high gain capability this is a great amp to look at.

Needed to upgrade my amplifier, and have been in love with Orange Amps for a few years. The cleans on this (coupled with my new PPC212OB) really make my Fender XII shine, from highs to lows. The Strat also comes through very nicely, and of course the SG sounds nice and beefy. The dirty channel has wonderful clarity and crunch. The gain mixed with the sustain from my SG just sounds divine. Will definitely be using this head every day for the rest of my life. As always AMS made the process super easy. 10/10 would recommend both the product and AMS

And I’ve had more than a few. From Mesa mkv and dual rec to egnater and Laney to Hughes and letter and carvin. This thing is awesome. When it’s in low watt mode no tone is lost and a twist of the shape knob and I go from war pigs to psychosocial. Get this amp. Don’t hesitate, there will be no buyers remorse.

Playing through a PPC112 cab loaded with a EV classic 200w speaker.
Good clean headroom and the dirty channel is sick!! Love that there’s an effects loop!

Right out of the box this amp sounds amazing. Clear shimmering cleans on the dirt channel and plenty of gain in the dirt channel to handle any style of music. I was most impressed with how well this head takes pedals.

I'm really digging my Orange TH30 head. I don't need a ton of knobs, channels, and built-in effects so the simple line of controls on this head are just right. Both the clean and dirty channels can be adjusted for a wide range of sounds that can be shaped for a bunch of different tones. My guitars' voices shine through and sound great! I pair this with an Orange PPC112 cabinet and they're massive upgrades from the bedroom combo amps I've been playing for years.

I play in three bands. Rockabilly, southern rock and metal. This head functions for all three. I have other amps as well, but I love my orange! Plenty of low end. Cleans are beautiful. The overdrive sounds great! Plenty of gain although I don't turn it too high. Put a tubescreamer in front of it and it's magic. Treble and bass knobs on the clean are very responsive. The shape knob on the dirty channel is also great even though I've seen people talk bad about it. Just spend a little time and you can dial it in easy. When I got this, I had a gig the next night. Took me literally 10 mins to dial in a tone I liked. Very easy amp to use.

After reading multiple reviews and buying this amp I was disappointed. I've tried 4 different orange amps now and have given up on orange. I'm shocked at the positive reviews people give but tone is after all personally subjective. Some of their high end amps like the thunderverb and rockerverb cost as much as a mesa boogie mark v and are no where even close in tone and features. I suppose there's genre out there for these amps but I'd bet they were eq'd or made to sound better with pedals rather then their stand alone tones. Shrill, middy, and lacking in bottom end were my issues. For the price point there are better amps out there if your going finance or sink a lot of your money into an amp. Also, in fairness I play rock, metal, nu metal, hardcore etc. Maybe it would be a good country amp ! 52 years old and I've been playing pro and hobby for over 30 years. Be forewarned.

This head has replaced all my other amps for small to large gigs. I use this head with a PPC112 cab for small gigs and can set it to 7 or 15 watts and large gigs with a pair of PPC212s set at 30. The half power switch on the front and the 4/2 tube switch on the back gives you a lot of options for a 7watt to 30 watt range with 2 options to run it at 15 watts (2 or 4 tubes). Shape knob is all vintage tones run to the left (more mids) and a hard rock/metal machine on the right (full right is more treble and bass, less mids).
Clean channel is very clean and lively. It's not bright like a fender but it sounds "warmer" and "fatter" to me.
I don't have a problem with really heavy handed drummers who crash on Zildjian Z Customs and can easily drown them out with a turn of the volume knob.
Quality is great. Don't let the made in China fool you. They don't have non company shops make their amps like some companies do overseas. They built their own factory there, hired and trained their own workers and brought in managers from their England plant. Great stuff. Have been gigging a Tiny Terror for the last 4 years before I got this and never had a single issue out of that amp. Expect this amp to be the same and I'll be gigging it a few times a week.
I can set it clean with reverb and delay through the fx loop and can get lost in the tones. Extremely responsive to your pick attack.
Clean: Darker than fender/Little brighter than mesa. Thicker/warmer than fender.
Distortion: Covers Vintage/Modern voices very well. I'd say its 65% modern tones 35% vintage. If you were looking for a pure vintage voiced amp you might would be better with an AD series amp. This amp is tight, full bottom.

Don't let that slogan "made in china" hold you back! The build quality on this head is Ffu%%^%%^ng OUT OF THIS WORLD! simply solid all the way through! This will live up to any ENGL , MESA quality standard!
I haven't done many gigs with it yet, but I would say this is built to last! no doubt about it!

Having owned Mesa for most part of my life I did not think Orange would have me hooked! I plugged the guitar and was rewarded with immediate satisfaction! I went ahead and also ordered the 1 X 12 cab extension cause it really deserves a decent cab to match with! the list goes on. I really got a great deal on this head from AMS, I got a "dent and scratch" unit for $760 bucks! Unbelievable deal! full warranty from Orange, after receiving the unit I honestly expected to find dents and scratches...NOTHING! They must've shipped a brand new one to me cause I could not find anything, maybe a minor little mark on the side but you can't really see it unles you're 2 inches from it! WOW and WOW Can't go wrong with AMS! Solid all the way! You guys rock!

Orange knew what they were doing with 3 knobs a channel! Sounds better than my old Marshall jvm and egnater renegade! IMO

I have an Orange cab, the tolex is a slightly different shade of orange, but it was also made in China vs the cab and other higher end orange amps coming from UK

This product is made very well, very sturdy. No issues at all yet.
Well, it's not even quite a month old yet, but it's an Orange, so i wouldn't assume it's going to head downhill anytime soon.

This is an amazing amp, overall the quality here is amazing. The tone is incredible, it's well built and it's very simple to use. Not too heavy, but not light enough to feel like a toy. Affordable powerhouse, this amp is worth it in every sense of the word.

This head is outstanding. The warm sound coming from a valve/tube amp compares to non. Don't be fooled by the 30w out put. I also own a marshall mg100fx and this 30w head kicks the Marshall's but anytime.
Volume levels are not balanced. So when switching from clean to distortion need to have the distortion volume knob set higher....Not a problem for me as I use the clean channel with distortion pedals.
