Quality:
Although I was frustrated and questioning my decision when I pulled the unit from the box, I am beginning to get it dialed in. If nothing else, I hope its durability will provide the return on investment I am looking for. The only negative for me at this point is the beater. I will be replacing it with a danmar square felt beater for a more solid contact and punch.
Ease of Use:
The endless adjustments were a bit mind blowing at first, but as you experiment with the pedal, you will find the adjustments are simple. I was looking for a lighter feelign pedal than the Iron Cobra, but with the same punch and snap as I enjoy pooping triplet drags into the snare groove. I almost have the pedal right in the pocket relevant to accomplishing that, and balancing the lighter feel to accomplish cleaner single footed sixteenth notes @120+.
Sound:
I purchased this pedal after using a loaner Iron Cobra from a friend for over a year as I snapped my footboard in 1/2. Needless to say, I play with heavy hands and feet, but still play with finesse if that fits what the group is trying to communicate.
Value:
That said, on of the draws for me to this pedal was its replaceable parts (so long as it stays in production). Also, I don't have experience with a longboard, and I liked the option of exploring different attacks and feels without purchasing 2 units.
Durability:
I have only owned this pedal for about 30 days. So far it seems durable, but time will tell. I will certainly report back with any issues.
