Where do I start? I am a practicing musician, 3 piece band, 35 years in the biz. First of all, we are not a super loud band, and the issue with these subs is the built in compression and so called circuitry protection, I used this set up( with matching powered tops) and it is nothing less than a very novice set up, they continually clip and then shut off and come back on in the worst times, a kick drum can only be " moderately" put in the mix, or its bye bye bottom end. I kept the whole system for a glorified monitor set up, that's all its god for. I went with Mackie DRM for all my front sound, no problems.

The Peavey PV 118D Powered PA Sub Woofer was a great find and great purchase! The Sub Woofer puts out the punch needed! If you're looking to add that personal feel to your sound... add one or two of these Sub Woofers to your PA... I only added one, but I'm seriously considering adding another to double my pleasure of the sound I get. You can feel it, especially for the price!

I bought this for DJing in a small venue. Just one of these is more than enough to provide ample amounts of nice clean bass. I have gotten nothing but complements about it since adding it to my system. I would highly recommend this speaker.

I bought two of these and believe me I can’t be happier and more satisfied, as a small to big venue dj and band sound provider, these subs are just ridiculous loud and crisp, amazing withholds, and the quality is stupendous, definitely will add 2 more to the family, my two jbl 15 highs sound even better when paired with these monsters! Try these you will not regret it!

I would recommend this product to anyone just be sure to run it through a mixing board foe better controle or at least until its been broken in pretty good the sound gets better with excesive use...

I suppose for the price, got what i asked for, but I'm usually quite impressed with what Peavey makes. However, i feel that these could've been louder.
There's a clip light that also illuminates to prevent overheating, so its hard to tell whether its just tripping the heat or if its actually clipping the speaker. this i NOT a good feature, i just had to put it in here.
Its easy to use, you pretty much just plug it in and set the level to avoid clipping. however its difficult to keep an eye on the the clip light when its behind the speaker and it seems to be so sensitive. running live-sound, i have to often run back n forth just to make sure my speaker isn't going to blow while still getting it to be as loud as possible
I got two of these to each go under a 215. They are powerful if you're laying down in front of them or pushing them past the limit, but other than that, i don't feel these are really 300w.
Your general opinion of this product.
i can only turn the knob to 1 before that light starts to blink red so i feel like i can't really push it to its full potential without the risk of destroying the speaker or the amp. you're better off getting passive subs and a separate amp to monitor the levels to avoid damaging your equipment.

Awesome sub for Mobile DJs

So far so good, I have played about 8 gigs with it so far and it is holding up nicely.
Pretty easy to tote by yourself and packs a lot of bass for its size. Would be nice if their was a line level input but minor gripe, most PA speakers have a thru and you can connect this to the input and be fine. It was great that AMS included a free 25ft power cord!
Easy to use just plug it in.
Sounds good gets just a bit muddy when there are two dubstep or jungle records on at the same time but overall really good. Works real well for hip-hop and top 40.

the front grill is a little flimsy so be careful, but this is a minor gripe
ease of use, just what you need to plug and play
very easy to use, very straight forward, I use this for small clubs for a live band setting and it sounds really good

I actually just received my speaker via UPS today, so far I have no complaints about the quality. I personally don't use the speaker pole hole that's included on top.
What I liked about this speaker was it's Compactness. It's very light to tote around, and it packs a deep "punch".
There's really nothing to using this speaker. Just basically choose either an XLR or 1/4 input, turn on the power, adjust the volume, and you're ready to Party!
For all you other Mobile Dj's out there looking for an inexpensive Powered sub, that's easy to move around (handles on the sides), than this is the baby for you!

Very sturdy easy to handle.
Weight of this is easier to tote when Mobile DJing. No cross over needed built in.
Plug it in adjust your setting on back an go.
Great sound not a Mackie or Jbl ,But I like it
