Valve King is way better than the price.
Quality:
Much better than the price would indicate.
Sound:
Nice shimmering clean sounds with a Strat. Good twang with a Tele. Humbuckers will scream through it with a nice warm crunch. The speaker is warm and smooth.
Reliability:
I've used it in bars and private clubs and even some outdoor gigs, two and three nights a week for three and a half years without a single problem. I've ran the master volume anywhere from about three to eight and it always sounds good.
Overall:
I've owned my Peavey Valve King 112 for three and a half years now. I haven't had a single problem with it. I play every weekend, year round. Usually two nights, sometimes more. I get excellent clean tones and nice warm crunch on the overdrive channel. I have, extensively, played an American Strat, American Tele, two Reverends, two Ibanez, a Carvin and a Les Paul through it. And I've played Classic Rock, Country, Soul, Funk and Blues through it with two fairly loud bands and it hasn't failed Me. Add an Ibanez Tube Screamer and this amp will SING. I've even compared it, side by side, with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and the only thing better on the Fender is the reverb. You can't find a better 50 watt 1X12 for twice the money.
Playability and Feel:

Tone:
I can get virtually ANY tone from the Valve King.

ALL THE AMP YOU NEED
Quality:
Put together very well. I've dropped it a time or two because I gig pretty regularly and it hasn't missed a beat.
Sound:
Like my description says I upgraded the speaker to a G12-75T and jumpered the fx loop with a short patch cable and it transformed into a tone machine! I do anything from Country Fried to Doom laden Sludgecore and the amp shines.
Reliability:
See quality. I've had this amp for 5 years and not a single stutter out of it. Peavey IS the most reliable gear around hands down
Overall:
With a speaker upgrade and jumpering the FX loop this thing turned from a good little amp into a tone machine.
If you discriminate just because of the logo and don't give this amp a chance you are missin out big time. I will take this over any Mesa Combo I've ever tried or owned and at 1/4 the price. How can you miss?
Playability and Feel:
It is a little heavy but if ya want toobs yyour gonna get weight.
Tone:
As I said earlier from Country to Sludgecore and everything in between. Ya gotta know how to tweak an amp and get to know it's nuances. I hit it with a Tubescreamer now and again but other than that it's al good stock.
Finish:
I like the 90's era Peavey block lettering better than the pointy lettering but I could care less in the end.

ValveKing - Sweet Amp
Quality:
So far it hasn't given me any problems. There was some adhesive at the edges of the tolex in the back of the amp but I can look past that.
Sound:
The tone is fine in my opinion. Add stomps to shape it even more.
Reliability:
I've only had it for about a month but already practiced and played a party with it and no issues... it sounded great.
Overall:
This is a nice amp. I have a Vypyr Tube 60 and actually like the ValveKing better. Not only is capable of comparable volume, it's a little lighter and less bulky as well. I would have liked an MP3 input for practicing but I just bought a Behringer mini mixer and hook it through the effects loop... it gets the job done.
Playability and Feel:
Lighter compared to the Vypyr and less bulky.
Tone:
Depends on how you set it. I like it.
Finish:
It looks nice. As mentioned, there is some adhesive splash in the back but overall I can ignore that.

This is very well made. peavey stuff is put together to last.
Sound:
Speaker not real good. I replaced it witha celestion 50 watt rocket and what a difference.
Reliability:
Only time will tell. Peavey amps are well made. I,ve owned a few and never had any trouble.
Overall:
Its a peavy, use it for a boat anchor, take to the gig, plug iit in and it will work every time
Tone:
Out of the box, dist was pretty muddy. After putting the celestion in it , the tone is nice and bright, dist is great.

You Gotta Get One Of These!!!
Quality:
Peavey Quality...AND support...second to NONE!!!
Sound:
Clear as you want it to be...Rich, Full and Dynamic when Driven. Everything a "boutique" tube amp is...without the cost!!!
Reliability:
The key here is... PEAVEY DESIGNED IT AT THEIR FACILITY IN MERIDIAN MS. This isn't a cheaply made amp at ALL.
Overall:
The "Stock" Valve King is "good." However, it turns into a TONE MACHINE with some very inexpensive "mods." Stick a headphone adapter into input 1 and plug your git into 2...put a jumper cable across the "effects loop"...replace the preamp tubes with a Tung Sol 12ax7 into V1...a Penta Labs 12ax7 into V2 and a Sovtek 12ax7LPS into V3 and this amp "TRANSFORMS" Total cost of "mods"? About 50 bucks !!!
Playability and Feel:
All controls have a smooth feel. You gotta try out the "texture" control. All the way to the Class A setting and it gives you that FAT TUBE SSSAAAGGG that everyone buys tube amps for...and when you want maximum VOLUME...turn it to Class A/B and your friends will think you have a STACK HIDDEN IN YOUR ROOM !!!
Tone:
From Classic Rock to Blues to Country...This amp does it ALL!!!
Finish:
Looked good the day I got it and looks even better NOW!!!
Action:
Very easy to dial up a tone I was looking for. After I added the "Mods" it's AWESOME!!!

Quality:
This amp seems to be built very well. I had a Peavey Bandit 112 that had some serious rattles in it, it went back for this and I'm glad I sent it back!
Sound:
The tone is thick and crunchy.
Reliability:
I haven't had it long enough to say.
Overall:
This amp sounds great right out of the box with no mods to it!
Playability and Feel:
Controls are very straight forward. It is a little odd having the FXloop in the front of the amp though.
Tone:
You can get a great 80's tone out of this thing! The clean channel is pretty clean and has just a slight bit of breakup to it.
Finish:
This amp is a bit drab looking compared to the pie ce of garbage Bandit they have out, but who cares?

Peavey quality made in China? Time will tell
Sound:
You can get a better tone, if you spend another thousand bucks
Reliability:
Never dropped it, never had a problem
Overall:
It's like a pick-up truck, you can take it anywhere
Playability and Feel:
Use the effect loop with your pedals, or you will have some funky volume and tone issues
Tone:
Tone depends and how you set it but varies from pristine clean to a feedback tone monster
Finish:
Looks like a decent low price tube amp
Action:
Because of the full tube circuits, this thing gets WAY LOUD and will stand up to that other guitarist with his 75-watt 2 x 12 solid state combo

Peavey has made a tank for $450
Reliability:
Not one problem in my year and a half having it, after 5 gigs too.
Overall:
Love it. Its not a JCM2000, but hey for this money you cant go wrong.
Playability and Feel:
Tubes give that presence everyone craves, and this is no exception.
Tone:
Everything. seriously, for this price it gives everything. The distortion is great. It's not going to replace a 2 grand amp but you cant complain at all.
Finish:
Its the blandest looking amp out there, but seriously....who cares? the sound is important!
