Like I stated before Peavey products are all very well made I have always been a Peavey fan I give them a 5 for quality
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
With my past experiences with Peavey products it should hold up just fine so i will get it a 5 here as well their stuff is very well made so I will say a 5 here
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
Overall this is a really great value starter kit I bought this for my son so I could teach him to play and this set comes with everything you need to get started.
The kit includes the very awesome Vypyr amp you get a guitar with a full double octave neck and a decent humbucker nothing fancy but perfect for a beginner and a gig bag to store it in and a wrench set for adjustments.
The guitar comes with an extra set of strings which I recommend replacing with something better there is a basic guitar cord plus you get 3 picks and a set of ear buds which are worthless the very short cord makes them almost unusable.
The kit comes with 2 DVD's one is a users manual for the amp and the other is a learning guitar DVD which I was not impressed with at all.
I would like to say I order this on a Thursday morning and it was delivered the next day I am in Northern Ca. and it was shipped from Nevada American Musical processed the order very fast I was also able to purchase this with th
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Overall playability once adjusted is fine I have played better and I have played worse I don't care for this type of 6 hole tremolo not the best sustain or action but again for a beginner it's fine.
Weight is about average for a strat style the neck is smooth and fast one thing I like about Peavey guitars I did not care for the tuners being on the bottom of the headstock makes it harder to tune, the controls are of good quality I will rate it a 4 here
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The overall tone of this guitar and amp combo is hindered by the supplied strings get some Slinky's or something for it I will restring it soon I figured I would get some use from these while my son gets some feel for a guitar the pickups actually have a good range for a cheapy got some plent fine metal sounds and pretty good clean tones they will do maybe an EMG upgrade later.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish is good it is a flat paint though not a high gloss lacquer so it's not shinny so I will give it a 4 here
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The action out of the box was kinda high I spent some time tuning this and setting it up for best playability so a 4 here is in order
