This is a great locking strap that will secure your guitar. It's lightweight and does not require any modifications to the guitar. I also like that it's not terribly expensive.

The built-in strap locks are decent that's the only reason for the one star rating. The strap is way too thin and cheap. It's a step down from typical nylon straps you can pick up anywhere for $5.

Believe it or not, I would trust this lightweight baby on my best guitar or cheapest, whichever was in need of a strap on the cheap/inexpensive. No worries. The mechanisms that clamp onto or over the holders screwed into the guitar weren't to difficult to assemble. I have nothing bad to say about them. I am the type however who sees no need to pay a LOT for a strap unless it's something that looks cool. Lamb skin? Sheep skin? I'm supposed to feel good about holding my guitar up with the skin of a dead animal? Maybe if it was dead when they found it to make guitar straps or whatever out of. Otherwise, I'm good with this one. Just fine really.

I own two Planet Waves locking straps, however those are made with two layers of of material stitched together. This one is only one layer and very uncomfortable. I also prefer the locking mechanism they have on the ones I previously purchased. I loaned this one to a guitarist at our jam and I forgot to get it back. Last week I told him to keep it.

Clever, Simple and Effective

Your general opinion of this product.
Pretty novel design for those not wanting to change out mounting hardware.
The plastic lock feels like it is made of brittle, inflexible plastic. It has not failed, but does not give the impression of having any structural leeway.

Good only for standard guitar shapes

Your general opinion of this product.
I bought this for use with my new Epiphone Casino and although it fit the pins, the locks can only fit one way, and because of where the strap pins are located on the Casino, it has to be twisted around to make it work, which makes playing uncomfortable and look tacky. I did use it on my Fender Strat perfectly, and I am ordering another for my 80's SuperStrat soloist. Just remember, it is only good for standard guitars with standard pins in the standard places (one at the heal and one on the horn).
It is a standard nylon strap with locking ends. It seems rugged so far. I don't see this thing failing anytime soon.
The locking head can only fit the pin in one direction, so if your neck pin is not on the guitar's horn, but on the neck joint, it will not work without being turned around, making a kink in the nylon. On a standard guitar, it locks good and tight, and is easy to remove without tools.
Time will tell...

It is a great idea but it cannot handle the larger pins on some guitars. Like the acoustic/electric connectors.
Maybe they should make the next generation strap with larger end pieces.

I bought this a couple days ago to use with my new Ibanez bass, as well as with my other axes. However, the strap buttons on the Ibanez are so large that I still can't get the Planet Waves strap to come off.

Quality seems good for a synthetic strap.
Haven't had it that long but it seems sturday.
Your general opinion of this product.
I'm not thrilled, online today to look for a more comfortable strap. The locking part is good.
It cuts into my neck, and I'm new and putting a lot of time into it (I was told by a more experienced guitarist that my guitar- epiphone wildkat is a bit heavy for a semi-hollowbody, so I'm sure that adds to the cutting)

Great purchase, will probably be getting another in the near future. Just be advised it doesn't fit a Jackson guitar strap pin.
Strap is just like any other quality strap, works fine.

Planet Waves Planet Lock strap

This is a well made product that should last a long time. Some thought was given to noise reduction; The backs of the locking end pieces are overmolded with soft material for rattle reduction and to avoid marring of your instruments' finish.
I've had it for a little over a month and it shows absolutely zero wear in about 60 hours of playing time.
Your general opinion of this product.
This is an attractive, good quality strap with an innovative locking mechanism. It fits standard strap buttons and operates cleanly and easily.
The edge of the strap does dig into your neck a little, unless you pull your shirt up. But it doesn't slide around like many woven straps do.
