i had no idea that cleaning and lubricated strings helped the life of strings and we have only had this item for a couple of months and i am glad that i just thought to get it. i could not really tell you any details, but this product is great for its purpose , i would encourage every string player to clean the strings because not only does it help the life of a string , such as not breaking as easy as it would if you didnt use the product but the sound is so much bertter . this was way for more than what i expected .

This particular brand "D'Addario" is a long lasting
lube for fluid movement on any instrument.
I highly Recommend it to anyone from Starter to Professional. Makes easy movement up and down the frets.

I looked at the picture and thought that the tin would contain the cleaner and one would "dip" the white applicator load the cleaner. Surprisingly, the cleaner is on the applicator (which is about 1/4 inch - how much cleaner can it hold?)and the tin is to store it. I don't feel that this is worth the price.
