| The ACP88 is very well made. It feels very solid and the knobs and buttons feel very tightly gripped down. There's no loose feeling controls on this peice. Oh, and I love the detented controls... | | Features:
| Too me, the best feature is the compressor section. With another multi-channel gate I had before, you really had to listen to tell if anything was even happening when you adjusted the knobs.
Now, the gate section is lacking a "HOLD" type knob/function. For me, this is very important. My strong point is getting killing killer drum sounds and if I would've known there was no "HOLD" function I might not have bought this unit. I bought it in a hurry, racked it and then (at the show) I realized why I was having problems setting the gates right on the toms... | | Ease of Use:
| This unit is very easy to use. There are "auto", and "soft" settings you can use if you don't know how to properly set the "attack" and "release" time on the compressor. This unit is easy to use with other units as well. I am using it along with another multi-channel gate (WITH A "HOLD" FUNCTION!!!) with NO issues whatsoever.
The manual is just as easy to read and understand as this unit is to use! The writers of the manual even have a sense of humor! It's good to see a company actually write a manual in the same simple, regular, human language that it's customers speak and understand!
