How dependable? this is the best made unit of its kind that has undergone severe rigors and trials. solid state dependability, solid construction, plug and play useability. What features would you add to this product if you could? the gate and compression with gain control work seamlessly together, forming a top notch single unit add on for discreet 8 channel recording. the compressor reacts with lighnting speed and is very easy to set it so the recorded track doesnt have that "over compressed wah wah" sound. full band instruments come through loud n clear without overdriving the signal. How playable do you consider this product to be? this item is literally "out-of-the-box" ready to go.i use it in direct line per-interface. its got the sensitive touch for vocals and great limiting, gates for drums. thi sunit does exactly what i s stated. great for live perfomances to capture that live feel without losing signal strenght or allowing any channel to be recorded with clipping. as a studio item, it works wonders. have found easy tweeks to turn a dead kick drum into a studio dream. lil gate, some compression, bam, instant awesome. Sound How is its Tone? the tone is an exceptional reproduction of the original signal source. Reliability How has it stood up over time? this machine has seen hundreds of hours or recording in dusty environments, only to never lose its touch or sensitivity. Overall Your general opinion of this product. this is an indispensable feature in my rack of studio recoring gear. works super well in tandem with other presonus gear.
