Product Rating Product Review I bought this as a lighter weight option to carry to our jam sessions! My mesa weighs a ton! Love the sound. It's unique to itself!! Plenty loud to hear over the drummer!! I can't get over how awesome the clean channel on this thing is!!

Product Review Very well built! Love the fact that it is not a Marshall or Fender. Great clean tone, very dirty 2nd channel. Love the half power mode for home.

Product Review I've had lots of combo amps and wanted to got the tube route on my next combo amp purchase. Plenty of amps to choose from and never thought I would spend this amount of money on anything 1×12",but I am so glad I went ahead with this amp. First off I play mostly High gain and rarely use the clean channels on any of my amps, but this clean channel is really clean and doesn't break up,so to me that's a clean channel, and I like it so much I now use it quite often..nice glassy rich tone. The high gain is awesome on this PRS Archon 25,worth the price itself..running into my stock EVH 2×12 and other 2×12" cabinets the sound is massive with great drive and sustain, plenty of punch and very aggressive, ultimate high gain tone. I am still breaking in the stock Celestion speaker but it's coming nicely. Any and all doubts about spending close to $1400 is long gone..thus might be my best purchase yet,my other amps are covered up in the closet since this came to me. Also the footswitch works immediately with no lapse in time and no popping..amp also takes my eq pedal,2 reverb and chorus pedal in the effects loop with virtually zero noise or humming like I had read about some of the Archon line.now if you crank it up it sounds amazing and sounds great at bedroom volume as well..the half power switch works fine even tho I haven't used it twice..I will say this is an amazing amp and highest quality..Now I want the 50 watt head ! Try out this awesome amp !

Product Review If you want a high gain combo, this is the one to buy. These are point to point wired. You can use el34's or 6l6's. I swapped out the original speaker for a g12k-100, but that's it. The clean channel is pristine. I almost wish it would break up a little but it doesn't. The gain channel is like a Marshall. Plenty of gain on tap. I use a noise gate at high volume but that's it. The tone is all there. My only complaint is the effects loop. I'd really like that to work, since there is no reverb. But it's noisy. Running the chords and the pedal as far away from the amp as possible seems to help. But it's a pain to deal with, so I run all the pedal out front.

Product Review After some frustrations with Marshall JVM and Mesa Rectoverb, I searched for a small-format high-gain amp for recording and small venues. PRS Archon has a great reputation as a high-gain amp yet also for it's pristine clean channel. With ample headroom to spare, the clean channel is indeed worth the price of admission. The high gain saturation from the lead channel is ferocious, yet articulate. Definitely a modern metal tone but capable of "plexi" crunch with the work of the volume knob on the guitar. No independent boost but even if you get one, an OD would not be necessary. Each channel has an independent master volume, bright switch and three bands of (useful) eq. Both channels share a presence and resonance setting. The Celeston G12-T75 is a good match overall for the big sound, with clean headroom and breakup not appearing to be an issue. I intend to keep using it, and also had good results with an extension cab using Eminence Legend 1216.
