i love the saturaion effect and it realy comes in handy when recording singers and r&b songs. the equalizer is really good and a lot of preamps dont have good equalizers but this one does and it sounds great. the compressor is REALLY GOOD i have mine set at around a ratio of 6.1.1. and a threshold of -29 and this sucker sounds amazing. u can yell into it and it wont distort. this great for strong vocalists and singers who really push the capabilities of your gear. like i said, 3 years and i aint got rid of it yet and i dont think im going to

i have been using this preamp for 3 years and i never had to change. u can record a professional album with this preamp and i have recorded 4 albums with this preamp and it sounds like im using something that costs 2000 dollars

How is its Tone?
the tone is not the same as a tube but still is rich and intelligent and clear. the saturation effect helps with shaping the sound even more. its a nice clean natural sound

it is the perfect choice for beginners or even veterans who are looking for another preamp for another type of sound. i have used this preamp with the akg c 414 b-xls 2 and the ksm44. to me the ksm44 sounds the best with this preamp. but its whatever sound ur looking for.
