Devil is in the Details

I purchased two of these together and the parts that came with each were different. The plastic feet for one stand didn't come with adjustment nuts. One came with little rubber feet for the speaker plate. One speaker plate had foam pads attached, I had to put the others on, and they were a different size from the first stand. The bolt that holds one speaker plate to the pole has too large a hole for the allen wrench. The cable clips wont fit the holes for one stand, but do fit for the other. The small plate used to attach the pole to the base was included twice in the first set and once in the second, did I get stiffed, or an extra?! The finish on the underside of one speaker plate is bubbled. The carpet spikes are from different metals in each set.
Features:
I had a set of particle board speaker stands which looked nicer but were not adjustable. We got water in the studio and the base was ruined. The base is a bit larger, but more stable.
Ease of Use:
It wasn't hard to put together, but the instruction sheet is just a one page picture, so you have to be careful you don't forget a part.

Reliability:
Seems very sturdy overall, but I worry about the connecting bolts.
Overall:
The stand itself is solid, but quality control is lacking. I would buy these again, but only if I got the same great deal they were running. I am more ammused than upset at the differences between each stand I got.
