General What is your overall opinion of this product? I've wanted a power attenuator for years, and looked into the Marshall Powerbrake and THD Hotplate. So when I studied this one and heard the sound clips I was sold. As far as performance goes, I am currently running my Marshall 6100LM ( a crushingly LOUD amp ) at 3/4 volume and can fire it up at 2am and not bother anyone else in the house. Make sure you read and understand the instructions. Also diming your amp is not good for it weather your using a load box or not. You'll get away with it for a little while but your amp will blow sky high. You'll also want to keep a closer eye on your power tubes. Most importantly It does not change the sound of the amp.
Could be great

Your general opinion of this product. Overall the Rock Crusher sounds great and works as an attenuator should. The difference it makes when recording is incredible. The only down side was within the first couple months the studio level control knob stopped working. I still use the thing, but wouldn't commend it to anyone or get another attenuator made by Rivera.
Better than THD

Your general opinion of this product. When I first palyed with it, I was not overly impressed, but still, I liked what I was hearing-Just wasn't sure if it was going to do what i wanted it to do, that is allow me to use my JCM 2000 DSL Marshall in rehearsal, gigs and in my studio without blowing out the windows. But I have played aroung with it, had to adjust the Marshall's pre, master and tone stack, as well as the presence, but, I have done it! I found what I was looking for. It has enabled me to use the 1/2 stack in a very controlable way. I liked, now love this unit. *Note: the -3db is really like a -8 db. The minus 8db is really like a -12db. Thats was a concern because when you turn on to -3db, it should be subtle, but its very noticablely attenuated. Thats why you need to really play with the sound of your amp-it might take a while, but if you buy this thing (I highly recommend), Have patience. You can and will, after tinkering with your amp, get the sound you've been hearing in your head.
