Van L. from Santa Cruz
Subject:
A good value boom
Quality:
Doesn't reach the quality of pro carbon fibre boom poles like those from Gitzo, but solidly built and light for an aluminum pole.
Features:
A fairly standard low-end boompole. Notable features include the option to run an XLR cable internally (Works fine, though in my experience more trouble than it's worth) and little velcro straps to help with external wiring (Nothing fancy, but a nice extra). Having a 3/8" to 5/8" adaptor included would have been nice though.
Ease of Use:
Pretty self explanatory. Doesn't even come with a manual.
Sound:
The base of the pole is padded, which helps with handling noise.
Value:
Long reach (10 ft) for the price (Other booms in this price range max out at 8').
