This mic was really muddy. Maybe it was defective in some way but it sounded like it rolled off all of the high end. Got it for a bass amp because of the claimed flat response, and I record in an apartment at relatively low volume so I need something that can capture clarity and detail and get decent gain without high SPL. It didn't capture any of the brightness and clarity I hear from the amp. It also seemed to boost around 100-200Hz, even up to 27" from the speaker. Big, sturdy shock mount, but very heavy because of this. You'll need a really good stand to prevent tipping, unless you just use it straight up.
Just all around muddy. Disappointing. Based on all the good reviews I'm thinking this might have just been a dud, but I only had the one so can't make a comparison.
Returned it and got a Lewitt LCT 440 Pure. This one is sounding clear and crisp. Adding it to my kick drum mic + DI for recording, now the mids really stand out thru the mix, instead of just a phantom rumble and percussive highs (pick sound), the bass is very defined and present now.

I had purchased a bunch of items upgrading my home studio. This microphone was the single most impactful upgrade I made. This mic sounds amazing. I would put it up against any of the higher end microphones that cost around $2000.

If you are considering the purchase of your first condenser microphone, then I highly recommend the Rode NT1 Kit.
- High build Quality
- Everything you need comes in the kit
- Strong signal
- Low noise
- Perfect on vocals and acoustic guitar
When broadcasting on JamKazam and micing my acoustic with the NT1: someone that I play with frequently on JamKazam asked me; "What guitar are you using?", before answering I asked why do you ask? They said it sounds amazing. Then I told them its my Ovation elite that I always play, it is just that I am micing it with my new Rode NT1. To which they replied...Wow it sounded like you had a different guitar...it sounds so full and rich.
I have had this microphone for a couple of weeks now and it has met and surpassed my expectations. Before buying I did my research into all condenser mics in the $300 range; compared specs, product reviews like this one.
If you are on the fence about which condenser mic to buy to get started with, get off the fence and get yourself the Rode NT1 Kit. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

I bought the Rode NT-1 for voiceover work on training videos. It has a very neutral sound and is easy to use. Since there are no real features, the money you pay goes into quality. Headphones and gain are controlled through the interface. The NT-1 picks up more noise than I expected, so the room must be secluded and free from external noise. The microphone is made from high quality materials and is very solid. You can't go wrong with this one.

If you are buying this mic, you probably already know it's a great mic, and IS better than the NT1A. The only negative I can really say about this mic is the cage it comes with. It's a fine cage, but I feel like it's trying to compensate its look with its performance; but it's still a good cage. Get the mic.

very balanced in terms of capturing lows, mids, and highs, only tried recording vocals so far but seems very solid. I’m surprised this kind of condenser mic is on the cheaper side, pleasantly surprised by the value. it is also built very well, is sturdy, and the kit comes with everything it says it will come with (nt1 mic + fabric pouch to keep it protected from dust when not using, shock mount, pop filter, and xlr cable)
the only negative I will mention was that the box that held all the items (the actual product box, not the delivery cardboard box) was slightly torn and such, but no damage to anything inside.
besides that, all is good with this kit.

The noise reduction feature is my favorite. I have been looking for a new microphone and after countless review readings and video watching...this one was my overall go to choice. I have owned a Blue Baby Bottle, a Shure KSM27, an AKG C214, and now this, and this matches the quality of the C214 easily, for less money. The pop filter looks great and is functional, and the shock mount is high quality and looks great too. Excited to record more vocals with this!

One of the best purchases I have made in a microphone. Clean and Clear no matter what you put in front of it. Vocals blaze with an uncolored sizzle that is comfortable in the middle and unmatched on the low end with everything you want in a quality microphone on the top. Rode got this one right!

I tried my new Rode NT-1 microphone in my studio and now it's my go to mic. I love that nice smooth high quality sound it give it's definitely more bang for your buck for a good professional sound. So yeah I would recommend the Rode NT-1 to anyone who wants a great recording without breaking the bank. Now I looking to add the Rode NTK Tide Microphone to my studio for even more flexibility of vocal recordings. I Love Rode Microphones.

This is a very natural sounding mic. I’m very happy with it. Probably not quite as detailed as high end mics but you can get radio quality recordings from it. I’ve used it both for vocals and acoustic guitar.

I have been an R&B vocalist for most of my life, a professional studio singer for 30 yrs and a professional voice actor for just over 2 years. The Rode NT1 Kit serves my needs perfectly, the sound quality is fantastic both for voiceover and singing while the cost is extremely manageable. I highly recommend this for all vocalists, whether pro or just starting out.

I love the crisp and clearness I get with this mic while I’m recording. The only problem that I have is that every time I use it, for maybe an hour, it’s fine but after that it’s causing “thundering” sounds in the recording. My other mics don’t.
