Product Review
The Rode NT4 is a Dynamite condenser microphone a must have in any professional or home studio.
With an XY pattern locked in there’s no need to worry about phasing or spending time trying to set up two separate mics to find the sweet spot.
It’s a solid build and has exceptional clarity and is particularly great on acoustic guitars.
It can be Applied in both field and studio applications
Which makes for a Versatile Mic.
With a price point that won’t break the bank it definitely contends with bigger brand small diaphragm condensers !

Incredible Acoustic Guitar studio Mic Solution

Not real good on live stage (feedback) but in a decent studio room or even a small quiet room, your solo recordings will be state of the art amazing and again amazingly realistic spacially (did I mention incredible spatial character).
We have tried nearly every mic and/or combinations thereof for recording acoustic guitars. Nothing compares to both the sound quality and ease of placement that the Rode NT4 exhibits. For even more ear candy, plug it into a stereo tube preamp then mixing board. Even without the pre this mic is truly a must have. Really clean and rich all by itself. Spacious sound to die for when placed axis horizontal, perfect balance between low and high strings when placed axis vertical. And any combo angle (rotate it) thereof gives amazing flexibility to deal with acoustic guitars that may have hot spots.
It also performs incredibly well for those who may wish to do one take vocal and acoustic guitar recordings. Placing this mic just below the chin and about 12 inches away, it picks up both the vocal and instrument in ways that performers usually can only dream of. The airy spacial quality in this application is unmatched.
A better pop filter design is our only wish but we have lots of those that will adapt. Irreplaceable for the discerning player and recordist, especially for those who insist on the emotional feel of a live performance recording without the distraction of audience noise. Better than singing in the shower with a pretty woman and your guitar stays dry, except for perhaps drooling joy the sound in your headphones will produce. A cardiac treat.

This product is made well.Let me also say that Rode support is the best I've ever dealt with. The x/y mic cable that came with the item was shopt so i called the company and they me one free under warranty though AMS/Rode!
It makes drum recording a lot easier for an on the go engineer.
Plug in and play with phantom power.
The tone is said to be dark but adjustable and highly functional...

Your general opinion of this product.
What a great idea! I've used it as a drum overhead in the studio and live. I've used it as a live recording stereo mic for orchestras, choirs, school bands, theater, and sound effects. It gives a true stereo image without the fuss of setting up two mics.
