Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This mic is solid - built like a tank. Made as well as any rode mic. You could use it as a weapon. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Great sound and internal shock. Off axis noise rejection is great. There is no roll off switch or anything. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? Easy to use. Just plug in. As far as mic technique you can't move around as much as you could with the ev re20 or 27, but you can move much more with the procaster than with the heil pr40 It's still a very comfortable mic to use. Sound How is its Tone? The tone is surprisingly good. Very natural sounding. To my ears it has just the right amount of warmth and brightness. It sounds somewhere between the ev re20 & re27. Its sounds great without any EQ but responds well to it - giving it good flexibility. It has a nice proximity effect giving nice warmth. Very clean and tight, but still maintaining a natural quality. I find it very easy to maintain an even bass tone. I own and am experienced with all the top quality dynamic mics and the Procaster is definitely one of them. If you're looking for a great broadcast quality mic on a budget this is a great mic to get. The lowest cost mic I have has become my #1 goto mic - I just trust my ears. Note: The PROcaster sounds totally different than the PODcaster. I've heard some people say it's the same - it is NOT, check the frequency response. In my opinion the PROcaster sounds much better.
