I’ve fiddled with many third party boom arms from Amazon, and most are cheaply made and do not work well. This boom arm has served me well since ordering it, and the desk clamp is quite easy to use. The only problem is that the boom arm is just placed into the desk clamp without anything necessarily holding it in. This caused some initial trouble, but is nothing major if the boom arm isn’t moved too much.

It's definitely a great boom arm, supports the weight of my RODE NT-1 and SMR shock mount with no sagging or springing. The main issue I am experiencing is that the locking nut at the head of the arm to keep the microphone screwed in place does not have a stable friction fit, and so the microphone does not stay up if you attach it out horizontally. I contacted RODE an they are in the process of sending me a replacement part. So you may want to opt for the new PSA-1 Plus if you want to be sure you're avoiding any potential idiosynchrasies of their first (but still very good) boom arm design, and don't mind the PSA-1 Plus's aggressive branding.

They’re sturdy! Only thing I wish that would’ve been included is something to keep the arm from springing open if you need to store it or transporting it. I ended up just grabbing some Velcro cable ties and going that route.

I love how I can move this mic boom arm in any direction & it stays at the exact position I want it to be while the mic is attached. I'm using this with my SM7B Shure microphone. This thing can rotate full circle horizontally & it can also move up or down as you please.

I use this with my Rodes mic and I have to say it’s a beautiful setup. I have a very long desk and am able to put the mic at one end with no problem. There no slag, even after adjusting. Great quality and very sleek.

Well made product and works as advertised obviously for the voice-over artist. I also record acoustic guitar and purchased this mic arm easily place a mic and still sit at the console while recording. Adjusts quickly, study and stable. Stays where you put it and moves out if the way in a hurry. Saved precious space fo my situation. Valuable piece of gear.

I really like this boom arm. I’m using it with the Rode NT1 and it is a great match. I was previously using a cheap Amazon one that while it was useable this one is better in every way. The build quality is amazing and the way the microphone seems to float weightlessly makes it a joy to use.

This was a great buy, it was from the scratch & dent category which resulted in a discount of $25.00,from the normal price. The only thing that was scratch & dent about this , was the box had some minor scuff marks, the item inside had never been unrapped
