What features would you add to this product if you could? The auto chopping feature, the ease of placement of the samples.. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? Not an easy item, but its alot easier than the MPC to me because all buttons have their own functions. They have lots of DVD's and tutorials out there to learn the basic format of the machine. there is probably a two week learning curve but the knowledge is worth it.. Sound How is its Tone? Your sound is going to ultimately depend on what you are going into.. Action How was the action out of the box? If you had not been through a tutorial on this item, you had some reading to do.. But once you get the general idea of how it works .. Very fast creations.. Value Was this item an overall good value? Very good value.

The VGA and mouse feature is incredible and adds to quick productions Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Took a minute to look through the manual which is not very user friendly by separating instructions on how to do simple task across several manuals. Sound How is its Tone? Incredible. Hip hop music is alive and well. Action How was the action out of the box? My first production groove box and this piece is built really well. Value Was this item an overall good value? Yes, I was looking at this Item when it was $2,000 but at almost a grand off this is a great buy.

How playable do you consider this product to be? well if you are into music and familiar with music equip it should be fairly easy to catch on...works great synced to protools, didnt take long to get started was enjoying it in no time, but i also had advantage of researching product in advance..manual helpful for those technical things Sound How is its Tone? sounds are superb, efx are great. pad sensitivity translates exactly to playback and you can even increase or decrease sounds that have been recorded by velocity Action How was the action out of the box? plugged it in tried reading the manual too excited though and gat started quickly i have used(or tried) to use my friends mpc but didnt have greatest luck with it, i researched this item for around a year and finally gat it once i did i know i made the right choice Value Was this item an overall good value? Item was def good value..AMS is great it dropped in price ($800) a few days after i purchased and they were gladly able to adjust price for me...great service!!

I had an 8000 but never got in depth into it because it had an issue, so after watching videos on Youtube and watching the boring DVD tutorial, I can move around OK..... Sound How is its Tone? SWEET Action How was the action out of the box? Could wait to plug it up.... Value Was this item an overall good value? I got it for a very low price after trading back my MPC-1000 I cam off pretty well.

From start to finish and you can add vocals, live instruments, and etc. I've never had any lock up problems with it on its own or while connected to anything else rather it was USB or midi. What features would you add to this product if you could? 512mb or ram. Unlike the MPC's, the sounds you have loaded are still there when you turn the unit off and back on. In other words, you don't have to reload everything again. The 512mb of ram is still unmatched by the others and proves to be a real time saver. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? It's a Roland so there is a learning curve. If you've owned any other Roland product then the learning curve is drastically reduced because you already understand that many buttons do multiple functions but in a logical way once you get used to it. A day or two and anyone who reads the manual can have it pretty well mastered. Sound How is its Tone? compared to mpc seems like the mv is more analog sounding then the new mpc 5000 to me thats what im looking for. How is its Tone? The sounds are great. It has a higher quality sound than the MPC but is has superior sound processing abilities that allow that raw or dirty sound some may prefer or is necessary with certain styles of music. The best thing is you can master the final mix on it, have a very clean sound, and also retain the grittiness if you prefer. The onboard sounds are very useful and not just there as well as the effects are very known and speak for themselves. Action How was the action out of the box? Out of the box it is hard to beat. Again, 512 of ram that can be expanded and as well as a 40gb hard drive that can be swapped for a larger one is more than what most people will max out. The mpc 2500 is the same price so why not get a top of line machine instead. I had this machine, sold it to a very good friend of mine who I wanted to get more involved in music making, went back to Kontakt 3, purchased an mpc 1000 as a trade up from a mpd 32, and I'm now buying another MV 8800. Go figure that one but it speakes volumes of how I feel about it and I've used every mpc for the record so this is not a biased opinion but a fact the Roland is the best.
