How is the tone?
The tone is terrific. With headphones plugged in, I feel like I'm playing real drums, real rim shots, sidestick and even rebounds. Love it.

It may be a bit pricey for the average player, but it pays itself off within the first month. Great item.

I got the kit with all mesh heads. Mesh heads are such the way to go. They take a beating and keep on playing. The rack is great...I mean everything about this kit just shouts out quality. Again, it's Roland!

How is the tone?
The TD4 brain includes 25 kits. While I primarly stick with 3 of the kits, I like and could see myself using most of the kits at some point or another. Especially the drum and bass kit for soloing. My kit is used in house in a huge church setting with a huge sound system. The brain lets you tweek things like the muffling of the drums to tuning pitches of the drums. When you have it set, and with a great sound system....well the sound on this is amazing!!!

Yep great value. Sure I would love to get a TD-20 one day, but think of it from a working drummers perspective. Most drummers lug around (and I did too) 5-7 piece acoustic kits. Then you have to have good mics and you cant overplay em or the sound guy will just take you off the boards.
Well with an e-kit, you dont have the sound issues. You can't overplay em. You have considerably less to haul around from gig to gig, and you still the the ebentif of that one solid kit plus a whole lot more. So sound wise, convienence wise it's a great value. And durability? Well it's Roland!!
