Ease of Use

General Your general opinion of this product. Overall, I would say this product is great for anyone that wants a cheap pair of matched mics that is just starting out. If you put them in a side-by-side test with something by Neumann or any other high-end mic company, they will most likely not fair as well. However, they certainly are an upgrade over my USB mics. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I have recently used these mics for very long periods of time in relatively high sound pressure levels, and they have help up quite well despite the abuse. All the interchangeable capsules worked perfectly and all the accessories have held up well. The aluminum case came with a very small and nearly undetectable ding in it when I got it, but if I'm going to get upset over a banged-up case I'm in the wrong business. These work really well for both live and studio applications. The only reason I didn't give this a 5-star was due to the fact that products made in China are hit and miss most of the time. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? To be honest, this product is about as straight-forward as it gets in terms of how to use it. The manual gave the exact chart information I needed and had the diagrams to show how to install the shock mount and such. I only have two complaints regarding this product really as far as ease of use is concerned. For one, I really wish the shockmount had some sort of bungie material rather than rubber, as the rubber grips the mic well-but at the same time makes the process of pushing the mic into and out of place quite slow and bothersome. The other feature I'm not overly fond of is that the location where the switches are to engage/disengage the -10dB pad and the high pass filter is recessed into the body of the mic itself. And it's extremely narrow, so you have to reach it with a q-tip or a toothpick (or something of equally narrow design) just to get to it. Outside of that, no complaints at all. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? To be honest, I don't think there is room for more features in this package. The picture for this doesn't show every component that comes with it. It comes with a dual-mounting unit, two windshields, mic clips (w/o shockmount), the two pop filters with the side attachment, the shock mounts, the interchangeable capsules, and the aluminum flight case. For something this cheap, I'm definitely not complaining. Sound How is the tone? The sound on these is really great given that they are condenser mics. They definitely are extremely effected by proximity in relation to the sound source. I use them mostly for miking acoustic instruments, guitar/bass amps, and as overheads for acoustic piano. Overall I'm really pleased with these and I'd definitely make this purchase again given what I know now. The tone is very warm and inviting, and it captures intricate details of people's playing very well.
