Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This is my issue. I've owned this system for about 14 mos, now. Had no issues until just over a year. Then during band rehearsal one evening, the left channel went out completely. System was just out of manuf warranty (of course), but LUCKILY, I purchased it here at American Musical,so an extra year warranty was included. Took about a month to get it back. The left amplifier had to be replaced.Unusual, since it had only been used for occasional band practice/solo practice (acoustic guitar and vocals only). I did read another review elsewhere where the customer had the same problem...left channel amp. So, beware of this potential issue if considering this PA....and DO buy it at AM for the extenteded warranty and great customer service. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Pros: *Quick, easy setup/break down *Lightweight - Only 50 lbs *Good power for small venues *ipod/aux for MP3 is nice *Decent reverb selection Cons: *Questionable reliability *Only 2 band EQ (no mid) *No adapter bracket available for mounting the head on a mic stand. It has the holes on the bottom, similar to the Yamaha Stagepas, but no adapter available, at least when I purchased. This may not be the case, now. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? The system is very easy to use, even if you've not had much experience with sound reinforcement. Setup is a breeze, especially for a simple set up like I use it for...vocals and acoustic guitar. Sound How is the tone? Sound quality is not bad for a system at this price point. It is obvious that Samson was modeling this system after the Yamaha Stagepas 500. I played through the Stagepas (guitar only) before buying the Samson. I thought the Yamaha barely edged out the Samson in sound quality. The system really needs a Mid EQ to help with guitar tone quality. My Taylor sounds great, but I installed a K&K sound body transducer (SBT) setup, instead of an under saddle. transducer (UST).Guitars with the latter can sound a bit quacky (mid-rangy) through the system if going in direct. General Your general opinion of this product. Great product which does go toe to toe with the Yamaha, at a lower price point. I've used the system mainly for band/solo practice, but have gigged with it once...a wedding reception for a med-sized room, which it handled beautifully. If not for the quality issue with the power amp,I would have given it 4.5 stars. I just feel like it's inevitable that the power amp will go out again, and probably during a gig. Therefore, I have "trust" issues with the system. Possibly Samson has addressed the issue with later released units? Let's hope so.
Great product! But be gentle...

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I've been using this product for about 6 motnhs now, without a hitch Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? iPod dock for backing tracks, integrated mixer, portability as a single unit. Deparately need a cover for the mixer to protect all those fragile knobs during transport and storage. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? No learning curve. Easy to understand controls. Plays well with others :) Sound How is the tone? Use primarily for vocals and acoustic guitar. Great tone in a small to medium-sized venue. Best tone quality is at about 50% of volume, loses some bass tone and gets a triflwe harsh at higher volumes, but still very acceptable. General Your general opinion of this product. I use the Expedition for vocals and acoustic guitar, amplifying soloists in front of a background chorus, mikeing quartets, and to play backing tracks in smaller venues where a backup band doesn't fit the stage. I've had no issues with the unit, only am concerned about the mixer controls when the mixer is installed in it's speaker storage location. I've switched to a gig bag for the mixer, but that means carrying the speakers, the mixer bag and a gig bag full of speaker stands, mic stands and mics. One less bag would be much more convenient :0

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Can't judge it's dependability since I've only had it for a week. Other Samson products, however, have been extremely reliable. The speaker enclosures are very solid and have a professional look. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? The portability is outstanding, although the unit is a trifle heavy to cart around easily, but the "on-board" storage for cables is a plus. I would transport the unit with the amp/mixer separately since the knobs are exposed when stored in the speaker. Having handles on both ends is also a nice touch. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? Setup is a no-brainer. All connections are clearly labeled without jargon. There's not much to the manual, but there's little about the unit that's not comprehensible. Sound How is the tone? The sound quality is excellent. I use it primarily with a synthesizer so the system's frequency range is fully explored. It handles the extreme ranges without noticeable distortion.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Very well made and dependable. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Portablity, however sliding the 2 speakers apart can be somewhat difficult. Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? Very easy to use, although I did have to search for a user manual online that I could print out. Everything plugs n just fine and works well. Sound How is the tone? Good tone in the small room where I currently rehearse. Can't wait to hear it in a larger setting.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It seems like it is well made. I take the mixer out of the speaker when I transport the system in my truck (don't want the knobs to get smashed if it slides) and then put it back in at the gig when I carry everything in. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Great sound and plenty of channels for my solo acoustic act. The fact that everything can be packed into one moveable piece is great (weighs about as much as the acoustic amp I was lugging around before). The speaker cabs are durable yet easy to handle (good grips for lugging or putting on a stand). This thing gets plenty loud for small-medium gigs. I've played outdoors to 200 people with this system and not had any complaints. Even if the mixer eventually quits on me, I will definitely keep the speakers! Ease of Use How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be? I think the PA is pretty self explanatory...just make sure you have each channel selected as either a line or a mic (acoustic is still a 'mic'). Sound How is the tone? The tone is great. Not a ton of bass, but what do you expect from a couple of 10s and no sub. Still works perfectly for what I'm doing.
