great guitar but to truly hear this beast roar drop a 2nd 9V. in for 18V and hold on bassists will hate you

the crimson red looks classy and mean top notch couldnt have done a better job myself

from the low f# it needs to run an 80,70,60 and on down action a bit to low on the low end but can be fixed

Quality is what you would expect from any Schecter. Top notch. I got the see through black finish from the other big name musical company as a Christmas gift from the wife, but being as I always personally buy my stuff here, I thought it best to review it here. The finish on the see through black is gorgeous. The inlays are great too. Everything is exactly as I would expect it to be and more. It is very sturdy and heavy as you would expect from an 8 string.

Only had it a few days, but Schecter seems to be a long lasting brand.

Overall, I am VERY, very impressed with this guitar. The intonation is 99% dead on right out of the box at 12th fret, sound is phenomenal with the 808s, finish is gorgeous and neck is so quick.

It's fast, a little heavy, thin neck, controls in the usual spot.

Finish is perfect. See through black is gorgeous and I would expect all the other to be the same.

How was the action out of the box?
Action was nearly perfect. Something that shocked me was the neck. This is my first Schecter but one of my friends has 5 and they all have the same thick neck. I was kind of hesitant thinking that this one would be like that, but on the contrary, it is actually really thin for an 8 string. Plays beautifully right out the box.

I haven't gigged with it, but he seems like a formidable guitar compared to my old ESP, which has been through hell and back. I have full confidence that this will be a dependable main guitar for me.

I'm not saying that this guitar made me a better guitarist it just opened up a whole lot of new range for me to play around in and I've developed a different style of playing and writing that feels more comfortable to me. I think this is hands down the best quality 8 string anywhere near its price tag and I would have paid more for the same quality. Definitely the best guitar choice I've ever made.

The guitar has a bit more heft to it than a normal 6 string, but thats expected with the wider and longer neck necessary for the extra strings. It still comfortable to play. The neck is really fast and is probably one of the best feeling necks I've played on.

The tone on this is very versatile for a baritone. I tend towards the middle chunk with some presence and it steps up for that with no problem. It has a deep and powerful low end to it, thanks to the extra low strings. The pickups are hot and solid just like EMGs are meant to be.

The finish on this thing is spotless. It looks amazing.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The action was really spot on, right out of the box. I was quite happy with how it played once I unboxed it. I only had to make some slight adjustments to get it exactly how I wanted.

I cannot belive this guitar is only 600, I had the Ibanez 8 string and it was a 1600.00 piece of garbage and did not look anything like this one!

This guitar is absolutely amazing, I personally replaced half my guitars with it.

This guitar has a nice stiff feel to it, the action is unbelievable moving from 6 or 7 to 8 will be no problem.

Killer tone, I have an amazing collection of gear and sofware for my Mac but it sounds killer through any amp. I am amazed by the clean sounds, since I play two hand touch style.

The finish is flawless, the inlays and binding are insane.

The action was excellent, for an 8 string the action and tuning stability are awesome. Insane for 2 handed tapping!
