Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Based on the cost and nothing else is is great!! It has issues but,it's a steal and you should NOT be afraid if you have any basic machanical skillz at all to tear into it and change out the stuff you don't like!! There are Guitar Player....and then there are ''Guitarist''!!
You need to know how it works as well as how to play it ! Tear into it and find out!!

How has it stood up over time?
Only had this guitar less then a week but, its a heavy duty piece to pack around...reminds me of my early 70's L.P. Standard weight wise ..maybe heavier. And it's body is even basewood according to Schecter. I already know this is one to mod so We mostlikely will never know how reliable it would have been in its unmolested form.

We were a bit concerned 'bout quality with the''For Cheap'' price tag on this model but, that was also the reason we took the chance on it in the first place and bought it! AMS's sale price on this is so insane that you can't go wrong anyway! Free shipping, Free 12 month extended warr. and 45 dayz to return the AXE if it turned out to be a ''6 String Turd''!

Ahh....The gear were using is not the greatest combo with this guitar.
PASSIVE Pups get some help from the zak wylde overdrive pedal! Some of the gear my girl uses for her Shredding of the 7. My girl said the V 1's neck was pretty quick and she is used to her Ibanez APEX with it's wizard two neck ! And keep in mind you could buy 'bout 10 of these V1's guitars for what that one apex cost new!
Put a real trem and some real e.m.g 81/85 u.s.a. models,not the china crap thats in the ax from the factory and it would be a nasty piece! Price would raise and kill the deal price wise ! One can dream!

E.M.G Factory Pups being passive liked the overdrive but, muddied
Clean channel thru a line 6 ,2/12 wouldn't sustain groups of notes low ...for the lack of a better way of explaining it ! I'm thinking modding this ax to a emg 81 bridge (..Active of course) and a Fernandes sustainer single kit placed in the neck position! Ax be , in you face with Ballz A blazen ! IMO!

ugh....setup was not to my liking! THAT P.O.S. Stink Floyd trem. is craptastic ! I hate the whole floyd Rose design..over priced, overrated junk!!! always was..,always will be!! don't matter.., rather its orig. Floyd or the licenced china sh*t ! I'll pay extra for a ''Kahler'' anytime.....infact looking into seeing if a n.o.s. ''Killer'' 2700 series Kahler from mid 80's will work on this body using the plate adapter. If not, one of the hybreds they offer !
iF For no other reason a Kahler, you don't have to chop the balls and some say resolder the ends to keep fraing of your brand new set of string !
you wanna tell me why anybody ever went along with that retarded concept?

Not too heavy, just heavy enough too let you know it is high quality,fast playing neck that is not too thin,just feels really comfortable.

The tone is pretty dark and smooth,I can get the sounds I want out of it no problem

Other than the comfort issues getting used to playing a "V" guitar standing up, I love it. sounds great, nice trem, setup was perfect out of the box.

its a little heavy, but the neck plays super fast, and i can rest my hand down near the 0 fret, and hammer on to my cords, and get my metal chunk on. the controls are decently located, just watch out for the tremolo arm.

The bridge pickup sounds very bright and crunchy very hot. but you can tweak that out on your amp. I prefer a dark muddy tone.

the flat black finish is cool, very dark, but it shows smudges a little more than other finishes i've had.

action out of the box was great. Schecter guitars are one brand that actually does a full setup before they ship out their guitars. so out of the box it was relatively in tune, the trem was set perfectly and the string height let me rock out some metallica right after i opened it.

It seems to be very well made and sturdy. So far it's dependable just be carefull of which cord to use plugging into. Some gold chords lose conection.

Overall the price you could not beat it. Awesome floyd rose action. Plays very well. It has a lot of b*lls.

Not to heavy just have to get used to the neck where the frets are. It's a little different than my Schecter Damien Series guitar so have to watch that. Controls turn nice in a pinch just need to watch out for the whammy bar though.

When distortion is used it is very chunky and has a lot of b*lls. Clean is a nice sound when using both pickups. It rounds out the sound more bass.

Very nice flat black if you like that. Of course I do so it looks great.

I bought this guitar a great price to resell it to make some money!I played it ,it was out of tune and I set aside cause I was just going sell it.So I was getting to sell and could'n get it in tune and I'm not a whammy type of guy but I could'n sell it like it was,so I became a whammy guy real fast and you what,this guitar is not for sale,it is just too good!!!!!

SWEET,SWEET,SWEET.action is a little high but I like it like that.frets are smooth an edges are well rounded and smooth I love it.

The guitar isn't too heavy, but isn't too light. The neck is nice and smooth, and love the Floyd Rose.

the guitar plays and feels great...the neck is nice and tight and plays fast..the action and intonation are better than any other 300.00 guitar ive played out of the box...it plays out of the box like a decent guitar does after you get it set up.
