Product Rating This Bass Just Smokes! I might even consider buying a second one! This bass is well made! Completely SOLID! My band mates could not believe the sound I got out if it! The range is very good, although, as with someone Else's review, I don't necessarily care for the strings that are on it. I am used to playing a heavier gauge for more thump, but that is easily fixable! Everything is well set up on this bass, the neck is fast and the action was like butter! after taking it out of the box and doing a quick tune on it, I was amazed when I looked up at the clock and 4 hours had past and my fingers felt as fresh as when I started! Again, with different strings, all would be perfect with this Bass, the pick-ups are unbelievable and the variation you can get from bridge to neck is fantastic! I got a Woody for the Thru Body Wood! It is beautiful! The action was set up wonderfully, played smooth as butter!

Great bass!

It's pretty well made and SOLID. This thing isn't light-get a wide, comfortable strap. There was one minor issue where two woods met that could have been sanded/buffed down a little better, but it's pretty minor and can only be seen if you are actively looking for defects. Only time will tell how durable this will be. There is a *TON* of tension on the neck! Don't be surprized if the neck does some funny things when you change strings. It literally 'popped' backward when I took the strings off, then 'popped' forward again as I added tension with the new ones. Not sure what to make of that and how it will be affected over time. Tone controls and onboard EQ are extremely versatile. GREAT! And very unique. I don't know what the stock strings are, but they are garbage. Replace them immediately. I have Boomers on there now and it sounds great. Neck is very fast, action very low. Some harmonics are tough to pull off with such a variance in size or the corsed strings. Two-handed tapping sounds unbelievable. LOUD! Probably the loudest bass I've ever owned. I have other basses with active electronics, but this thing SCREAMS. With the onboard EQ, you can get pretty much whatever tone you are looking for. Satin finish looks great! Not outstanding, but very satisfied. Action was perfect right out of the box. I've heard some complaints about fret buzz, but none to be found on mine.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
Well built, the brushed gold hardware really looked sharp with the satin finish. The bubinga top added a nice overall visual.

FEATURES:
Active electronics sounded fantastic-there was more than enough control over the tone.

EASE OF USE:
Set up excellent right out of the box- I didn't tweak a thing.

VALUE:
Well worth the money. Wish it would've came with a case though.

SOUND:
The whole "wall of sound" description is very accurate! It added a new dimension to the bass lines I was playing.

Your general opinion of this product. This is a high quality instrument. The set up was good and the sound was even better. I was pleasantly supprised by the overall craftsmanship and the terrific set up and sound. I have yet to find a better 8-string in any price range. Truly a fine instrument and a blast to play.
