Chad W from Fargo, ND, USA
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Impeccable Quality. Always impressed by Schecter.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Only had it a week but I expect it to hold up as well as my previous schecter purchases, which were built for a lifetime.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
Schecter makes quality guitars that rival any other brand. The action, finish, electronics are top quality!
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The feel of the guitar is also great. Well balanced and fits nicely on you while playing. Love the new knobs with a strip of grip rubber.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
When coil tapped it gets a nice sparkle. In standard humbucking mode it has a sweet singing neck pickup and a great all around blues to all out metal sound.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish is spectacular. Better than my epiphone tribute les paul I got a few months ago.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Factory set up is great for all around playing. May want to lower it a bit for speed metal.

Your general opinion of this product.
Excellent craftsmenship. Could use better electronics - cheap 3way switch, I had to rebuild, cheap pots. Pickups are excellent.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Fast, old Gibson feel. Controls well positioned, could use better components
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Full tone range, great balance of tones. Pickups are hot yet clean if neeed, great distortion tones
Finish

Feels well balanced, fast action, great neck radius, volume and tone knobs in the right position.Plays like a dream right out of the box.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Pickups are mellow and somewhat lackluster. Overall sound ok.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Paint was ok, but the binding is another story. Looked like some monkeys missing fingers applied the binding.

Unbelievable quality for a guitar of this price range.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Neck is very comfortable and fast. Frets are well dressed and ready to rock right out of the box.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Pretty bright tone with toe coils tapped and a more vintage sound with the humbuckers.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish was a little flawed.Who cares. I'm Gonna beat it up anyhow.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Plays like butter right out of the box. Would have to pay $40 or $50 for a set-up like this in a music shop.

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
I think this is a well made guitar and would highly recommend it.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Have only had it for a short time, but it feels very solid and it should hold up to many years of playing.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I love this guitar. I have been playing for far more years than I like to admit and have played many guitars, but this is my absolute favorite.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It has jumbo frets. I prefer medium, but once I got used to them, it's not bad. Love the neck--it's just like a Les Paul.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
I found the tone to be a nice in the middle mix; not too bright not too dark, and not muddy. Great tone for stock pick-ups, and the sustain is amazing.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The paint job was not the absolute best--i got the black; couple of spots where the binding was not a perfect line, but all-in-all a good finish.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The action was good out of the box, a little bit of fret buzz, but should be easy to correct after setup.

Will Adley from Newton, NH, USA
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
For the price I paid, I may as well have stolen it. I was surprised it held it's tune so well, I'm pretty heavy handed on my strumming and I haven't had to tune up much, other than the normal string break in period.
Schecter has a good thing going with price and quality. This guitar is sporting some impressive options for a less than $400.00 guitar.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I have only owned it for a week, but own several other Schecter guitars and I'm confident this will stand the test of time. Everything seems good so far.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
There isn't a better guitar in it's price range that can do what this guitar can do.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It's not as heavy as a Les Paul, but it plays similar to one. The head stock seems a tad heavy, and a catch myself pulling it back up now and then. It plays nice though and I really like the look and feel.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The pickups were decent, I like them. They are just as jangly and bright as my fender strat, almost moreso, it was not as heavy or chunky as my les paul or SD Hotrail, but then again the pickups are not designed to be as such. I almost prefer to play clean through this guitar as it really shines in that area.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
It's a glossy black, with aged white trim. It's a classy look. You can't go wrong with classic black.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
I'm more a chunky rhythm player, so I don't noodle way up high on the tiny strings, but it seems to work. I want to say it needs to be re-setup and intonated though. It almost seems as if some strings are higher than others, I could be just insane though.

Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I must have gotten the runt of the litter because neither was my guitar in tune; of set up to the standards everyone is bragging about here. The pickups are hotter than a Les Paul with the 490/498 combo near the hotness of battery operated pick ups. This guitar also is slightly unbalanced like a SG in regards to headstock dives. Its a very light guitar, about 5 maybe 6 lbs if that; my SG feels heavier than this guitar. The Les is way heavier. With this said I am very happy with this guitar; this is my first guitar thats was not either a Fender, Gibson or Ibanez and I am really pleased.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It has a SG type neck and its not as chunky as a 50's LP Neck but not as skinny as a 60's neck
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Workable especially for heavier music
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Looks great
Action
How was the action out of the box?

This is a fantastic guitar for the price (especially the close-out price I paid for it).
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Great. The neck is painted which creates a little drag on your thumb, but not enough to be a problem like on some other guitars.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
With the coil tap you can get a variety of tones.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Glossy black with gold hardware and an ivory binding. The binding isn't too easy to see in the photos, but looks great.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
It was set up perfectly and in tune from the factory.

Your general opinion of this product.
I was impressed by the quality of the guitar. Schecter did a great job.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The guitar was built like a epiphone les paul. It just has a les paul feel when you strap it on. The pickup switch gets in the way of finger tapping when tapping on the A string (hot for teacher)
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The bridge pickup is hot but obviously not as hot as an EMG 81 or Seymour Duncan blackout. The neck pickup had a great solo tone and overall clean tone.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish looked pretty good, gets a little dusty but thats normal.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
action was perfect, intonation was dead on.
