Product Rating

Product Rating These seem to be constructed totally by hand. They show all the signs of Duncan's aging process and the earmarks of hand-winding. I have not had these Antiquity p/u's long enough to judge their reliability, but I do have other Duncan pickups that have been totally reliable. Your general opinion of this product. Overall, these are well-made, serious pickups for tone junkies. When you install them, get ready for a somewhat radical change in the sound of your Strat or Tele. This category does not apply, as they are pickups and are not "playable". But they "feel" heavy and they have a real visual presence. If you are looking for the tone that put Fender guitars on the map so long ago, then look no further. These Antiquity p/u's are monsters of pure single-coil twang. They are less warm, but totally bright and naturally compressed. This is that vintage "bell" tone you have heard (or dreamt) of, with readily availabe snarl and snap. They ring angelically when played clean and they growl like Satan with a Texan drawl when driven hard. Duncan Antiquity pups = PURE STRAT TONE. Period. Oh, these things come in a gorgeous, eye-pleasing Tex-Mex looking package, each in its own little paper cocoon with a hand-lettered tape closure and a drawstring sack nestled in a custom-cutout inner box. And then... Out comes the filthiest, dustiest, most overhandled, ancient-looking monstrosity you can imagine. The most beautiful thing I have ever seen! PERFECT! n/a
