Product Rating Product Review Exactly as the title says. Smoothest pup I've ever tried in neck position. Goes from clean to dirty without losing any of its tonal character. A must try if you have the configuration for it.

Product Review Seymour Duncan is always reliable and have used them since I was just starting out as a guitar player, Aside from being my pickup of choice, another great thing is it doesn't matter which guitar I use live or just to rehearse with, I never worry about having to alter my amp settings to fit the guitar (all of my guitars have SD pickups installed).

Product Review I purchased this as a replacement for a cheap lap steel and it turned the guitar into a quality instrument. Full spectrum sound without being overly harsh in the high-end. Reacts musically to right-hand dynamics as well as to the effects of control knobs. Sounds great clean or with overdriven tones. And, as always with SD products, the wiring diagrams and support materials are excellent resources

Product Review Like most people, I only played the neck position on a strat, the bridge just didn't cut it. Until I dropped in the hot rail. This thing has power and tone that makes it sound as good as any of my hum bucker equipped axes. It's great for pushed cleans too. Install was easy and required no modifications. I love this thing so much I just ordered the neck position hot rail for a real killer setup. Couldn't be happier with my purchase and AMS was fast and easy as always!

Product Review The Neck position is smooth but loud. This would sound great in any guitar distortion or no. The bridge position is a bit to hot for cleans from what I've seen.

Product Review Great tone. Got this in the neck on a start. Works great with the JB in the bridge and vintage rails in the middle. Exactly as I expected it to sound. Great for rhythm or smooth leads.

Product Review this is a sweet neck pickup for hot rod distortion tones,it sounds great clean and split too . but if your looking for strat type tone maybe keep looking. but when split it does a pretty good single coil spank.

Product Review what a great sound I put one at the bridge position of my strat because it just plays so nice I wanted to be able to shred with it also. I put 57' custom shop pickups in it first and they are great but not hot enough for harder stuff and I rarely use the bridge pu anyhow so i stuck on in there and what an awesome combination. easy to install but READ the instructions.

The quality is excellent. The pickup is dependable and AMS is dependable without a doubt. This pickup is extremely reliable. I would never advise someone to worry about wheter or not this pickup with just quit working on them or not, Seymour Duncan is excellent at what they do. Your general opinion of this product. This is a great product. I bought this pickup to replace a crappy stock pickup in my Fender Squire. If you own a Squire or something to that effect and want a better high gain sound, I strongly recommend purchasing this pick up, it will fix your problem instantly. It's much deeper and fitter for high gain playing like power chords and so on. It feels fine. I have not noticed anything different as far as playability and feel after installing it. I didn't give it a 5 because it's not perfect, but I believe that a 4 is an exceptional rating for it. It's pretty much hot, like the name suggests. If you are scared that this pickup would be too hot and would burn you, than think again. It's pretty smooth in my Fender Squire, but of course it isn't super-professional-cure-all, I'm not going to lie. It's a great buy, no doubt. Bottom line: I compared this to some DiMarzio pickups to fix my Fender Squire's crappy bridge pickup problem and I choose this. Of course pickups are all about preference, but I think that Hot Rails by Seymour Duncan are better for their ability and price than DiMarzio in this field. It looks good, but not beautiful, at least in my guitar. It is also available in white, and that's what I did. It doesn't look out of place or bad, but I wouldn't' say it looks like it is extremely natural. If you are looking to replace pickups though, that will probably happen no matter what.

Your general opinion of this product. This pickup is great for Strat Players who require more sound versatility, especially when used in bridge position. Really helps guitar solos jump out of the mix. Great fat raw distortion sound "ala" AC/DC. Great Classic Rock Pickup! Louder than most pickups so don't expect a balanced output amoung your other non-hotrail single coil pickups. I use stock strat pickups in neck & middle and 1 hotrail in bridge.
